dont know what bc has against tom but its bullshit.

for example

every touch he had against inter , how well and quickly did he use the ball? he was the reason inter couldnt handle us because he dictated the tempo of the game, on this occasion a very swift tempo.

it looks so weird when he full on sprints and moves his feet quickly, like it's unnatural haha

This is absolute nonsense. For much of his time as a regular, Jenas had one of the highest passes per minute rate in the EPL yet still maintained one of the highest pass completion rates. Regularly in the mid eighties. Way better than Hudd's for example.

But then, much of his passing was short and sideways, not necessarily a bad thing, but by definition guaranteeing a higher completion rate. Then you have his nancy-boy tackling and general reluctance to get stuck in. Sure, he covered a lot of ground and did a lot of closing down, but there was a reason we signed Parker.

At 2:18 is a perfect example of Hudd at his best. Simple and effective. I love Hudd and have thought for a long time that he could be a pivotal player for us, however the formation would have to accommodate him.

I'm not saying that Hudd is any sort of replacement for Modric. If the gods of football are smiling on us we'll get Moutinho as a replacement. However if used in the right way Hudd can be a vital part of our team.

Of course you also get this...

I think Huddlestone still has a definite part to play next season. A lot is said about pace but the speed at which he can directly switch the play is sometimes better than a player running with the ball. Switching the play quickly opens up space for the likes of Lennon and Bale to exploit. Huddlestone is one of the best passers long and short in the premiership, the issue with some has been his mobility. Have you seen pictures of him recently? He looks like he has lost a lot of weight. I think we could be seeing a more mobile Huddlestone next season. He won't be first choice but he is a fantastic back up.

Look Chrissi (can I call you Chrissi?), I know this is a horrible thread to keep in check, and I appreciate that this is all technically off-topic, but surely this sort of conversations is simply the result of a small number of people congregating in one place on the website and striking up a natural conversation. It's not peak time so it shouldn't cause huge issues should it?

Fair enough mate.

So according to the latest ITK...

Modric defo going. Trying for Moutinhu (sic)

If we can't get Moutinho is there anyone else at the club that could do a decent job in midfield?

Let's hope Tom comes back from his long lay off with a point to prove.
He has the ability to dictate games with his passing but he really needs to demand the ball all the time.
Too often in the past he has gone missing for long periods in the game.
He really needs to come out of his shell.
He doesn't need to have great mobility, work on his positioning, just step into space and then play another pass.
Pirlo barely broke sweat at the Euro's but he was excellent throughout.
I hope the time off has given him plenty of time to contemplate his future career.
If he WANTS to be an important player for Spurs................now is the time.

Of course. Welbeck is not good enough. Just a faster Defoe.

Disagree mate. Think Welbeck's class and will only get better. Big, strong and fast; decent touch. Impressed me most times I've seen him. Nothing like Defoe.

Sturridge on the other hand....

What would be great is if we have the money to buy all of our targets before Modric goes and just try to tempt him to give it another year..... Not going to happen though. A midfield of modric Moutinho and Sandro with Sig, Hudd and Parker as replacements and VDV if thats where he would play? has me salivating at the thought. As good as any midfield IMO

Just posted a player thread for Maty Ryan, a young Aussie keeper about to trail with us. Presumably looking to replace Jansson and/or Ranieri with someone more proven. Or maybe even Cuddles/Gomes with a prospect.
