It seems that like Jose, this would potentially be last chance saloon for Mario

All this rhetoric around Mario makes me think I'd be disappointed a little if we didn't get him now!

My one concern about Giroud is that Chelsea are apparently also looking for a striker, yet they have Giroud, who is supposedly good enough for us.
If Chelsea have him but are looking to replace him, why do we want him?

I'm all aboard the Mario train... Wout Wout!

Balotelli = great character but a complete nutter/unpredictable.

Giroud = old and slow.

Llorente = love him but, yeah, no doubt about it, old and slow too.

Is that really the best we can do for a club that is as profitable as ours? I can't quite believe we're all trying to convince ourselves that it is.

By the way, just a thought: Do you think tabloid sports journalists are here at this forum reading and base some of their transfers rumours and articles on that? We get an ITK and discuss it, they read it and make a headline out of it? Can we read about this link and rumour in tomorrow mornings papers online?

It’s January mate - and we’re in the midst of seeing how difficult it is to get rid of players we no longer want. The caution about not signing someone permanently for the sake of it is the right thing in my eyes.

Llorente, Giroud and Balotelli.

Atleast we know how it must feel being a Wham fan during a transfer window.

Pretty sure that some journos trawl through fan forums. I guess that they need to, to do their jobs properly, to get an idea of the fans view etc.
Plus, I'm pretty sure that false rumours have been started online and made their way into the press.

Good points and to some extent I agree with you but the candidates leave quite a lot to be desired. It'll be interesting to see what goes down tomorrow.

It's just dependent on ones perspective and I totally agree with you in that we have to look past Jan and you can't get whats not there!

Ages ago I went online and said I was an estate agent selling a house to seedorf in London and it made it onto a number of sites.

Looking at the options mentioned, I'm not sure any of them would improve us.

Wouldn't bother me too much if we didn't get any and just used one of our own, Son or Deli or even Bergwijn would be a better option than one of those old fossils

We have to remember though, this window is nigh on impossible to get the quality we're looking for in a striker. I really don't have a problem with those you mentioned. They're realistically only going to play for the second half of the season, that's it. Those players you listed have bucket loads of experience, probably still bang the goals in. I would rather that, wait until the summer and get our long-term striker in. We have players in out team that can score for fun, usually. They are out of form, but the goals will come.

Thats the thing- the lack of an overall need. However an injury or two and a busy fixture schedule an old.fossil may help lighten the load.

These players have been playing for seasons with little rotation due to a slim squad.

As ITK stated that the overall plan is to bed Troy in an old fossil maybe what's needed!

You are joking right?? Have u seen how ineffective we have been in front of goal?

If its Mario or Giroud...mario gets my vote, i am just not sure i can support a player who has played for my 2 most hated teams
