Think £20m is reasonable for KWP to be honest. Foyth I wouldn't be actively looking to sell, but as talented as he is, there's still a chance he goes the way of Chiriches rather than Rio Ferdinand. For a large enough fee with a good sell on percentage or buy back option, we might see value in a sale.

Either way it's nice to hear of some movement, as by all accounts it seems like we need to sell to buy, again.

Thanks for the updates as always herc.

I think moving on KWP is best for all parties, a nice selling on fee or option to buy back would be a sweetner in case he did kick on.

I like Foyth and think he could be a great player, a loan with a PL team would be excellent. Selling him for £15 million would be criminal as if he was playing regularly in a country like Spain he'd be getting rave reviews as the next big thing! He just needs time to mature/work on his upper body strength and he will be a beast. Just a bit too gangly at the minute and gets easily bullied.

Piatek is a good alternative to Kane, having someone who is a clinical finisher and a strong header of the ball is needed especially as we like to fire in 20 crosses a match these days!

Foyth: For avoidance of doubt and pointless discussions on his value, I said ‘in excess of 15m!’
And I mean way, way beyond that. Any further discussions, please let it be had in the relevant player thread!:smug:

I would say 15-25 mill is a good deal for Foyth, for whoever's buying. In this market and considering the fact he is young and highly rated with solid international experience, I'd say crazy money would be more like 40 or so, or at least I'd hope that's how we'd view it. There's a clanger in him per game to be sure, but I do believe if he had been a regular for us for the last year, he'd have grown as a player in that time. You can see the player inside him screaming to get out. I hope a long-term loan is in store for him.

Agree. Not only do we get a transfer fee for him but we also get to end matches with 11 players on the pitch. Win win!

Clubs should be jumping at that valuation for Foyth. He’s not the finished product but he’s close and his technical ability is excellent for a CB.

Very surprised to hear about Foyth as he is decent, although his future may not be at CB which is what we need.

Wonder who will be backup for Aurier if we offload both KWP and Foyth? Sissoko is out too. Dier, Sanchez? Aurier could get injured too.

With his talent you have to think there’s a player in there. I find it baffling that no one’s tried him at DM.

How could he do worse than some others we’ve tried there?

Id like to keep him so I hope there’s nothing in these rumours

Regarding the polish striker: No - that is so short minded - we are in a 2-3 years of development. If we bring in a striker, either Get a Young and promising or a 6 months loan.

Our need is at the back, both backs, a CB and a DM. Preferably an energic DM like Palacios type of player. Get the spirit right, and help the defence.

IT is hard to assess all our players because the confidence is so low... so Lo Celso who is currently looking like dogshite could be a world beater in a confident team. AS may well others.

Actually players like Piatek fits the bill perfectly - younger than Kane but more experienced than Parrott. Sees Kane as the role model and would have no problem biding his time at the bench taking the duties for him on lighter matches or when needed. A good bridge between Kane and Parrott both on age and experience level.

Younger players would be Parrott level or might as well recall Sterling. 6 months loan is the real short-mindedness - doing no benefit to the squad at all while making no business sense whatsoever.

I agree to an extent. The jury is out on Piatek specifically, but I can understand this kind of signing. Personally I think he would fit the bill from the little I’ve seen.

We have an opportunity here to bed in our back up striker while Kane is out, and given that anyone coming in know they will get a lot of game time time ahead of the Euros we are probably in a stronger position to attract a decent striker than in the summer when Kane goes straight back into the team. So I agree we should be pushing for a permanent solution.

Having said that, if it’s not possible to get the right player on a perm, we absolutely have to get someone on a 6 month deal to try to achieve CL, in that case as good as we can find and someone that can hit the ground running.

Perhaps the potentially unpopular names Herc didn’t disclose are tried and tested prem strikers. Not sure that would be the worst thing in the world right now, especially if it was a loan. Struggling to adapt to the pace of the league is the last thing we need. They’ll just risk underwhelming and being slated without a proper opportunity to integrate.

KWP can't be worth more than £10-15m. He's got very limited experience, is physically weak and may well have missed the chance to fulfill his potential (our fault, not his). He's lower Prem/upper Championship quality and as such that's who will buy him. It's different to AWB to Man UTD as Palace were selling a player to a market that could pay the fee, we are selling to clubs that are shorter on cash so the price has to reflect that.

So far as Foyth goes. Yeah, there's a player in there, but we've been saying that about John Stones for years and the guy is still making mistakes like he was at 21 years of age. Foyth could do exactly that and we aren't in a position to continuously pay the price for those mistakes. He needs a loan out and a steady stream of football.
