This. This a thousand times over. Martinez is a nice guy but he's not a winner.

Were you expecting Harry to be as successful as he was? Or Ramos to bomb as spectacularly as he did?

Everyone has a preference, and mine's Blanc, but the fact is he could be another Fruitini and Martinez a runaway success.

JJ, do you think there is a possibility we'll have a manager in place by the end of next week?

Yep you just don't know.
If i was Daniel though i would appoint Blanc over Martinez every day of the week and the next week too!

Honestly don't know?

Ta very much, I'm quite excited....

Blanc or AVB is my choice but I guess we'll see (I wouldn't be hugely disappointed by Moyes either, also thought he spoke very well tonight when Gary Linker was questioning him)

According to Harry, Joe and him fell out a over 2 years ago and they never spoke since.

If i recall the story that he was putting about was that Joe called him and told him not to play Robbie Keane. So Harry being his usual stubborn self played him and they havent spoken since!

Joe Lewis not involved eh......

Happy to hear that. I know Lewis is a Spurs fan so it's good to hear him being involved. And despite knowing what match you're on about I still agree with Joe.

Soooooooooo??? Vertonghen? Or is everything up in the air right now?

I thought Harry shouldn't play Keane as much either towards the end but it is troubling to think our owner is telling the manager who to play and then not talking to him for 2 years because of it.

The press have nothing to go on regarding our next manager. Not a sniff. So they have all had a good think about it and decided that AVB is our man.
They know we want a European style set up so they have decided that it must be AVB and it is logical to appoint him and everyone is coming out and agreeing.
However that isn't the case yet, as i said before , we will announce someone when we are ready which isn't now.
I'm not saying we will or we wont appoint him just that nothing has been finalised yet.

Please confirm or deny that Levy has spoke to Pep Guardiola and if it isnt sensitive the response that was given

Didn't realise JL was involved in that sense. Would the Keane scenario been as a result of the unofficial Xmas trip to Dublin?

Correct me if I'm wrong, but that could be the first time you have ever chosen to actually say Blanc's name, JJ ?

Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm.......................

I have no idea whatsoever what to make of that.

Good point SS57.

I thought Harry was the perfect manager at the time, but never expected him to be as successful as he was.

I thought Ramos would do well. I was wrong.

My preference would be Moyes. I think he'd do brilliantly with our current squad. If we hire Martinez I'll support him because I'm not a reactionary cock. However Martinez would fail miserably - I'm convinced of it.

haha, fair enough, I've just noticed quite a few Blanc questions that were aimed at you the past couple of days, that you had accidently or by design not replied to. The very fact you reply to any questions at all, is much appreciated ;)

Cheers JJ

I do hope we are considering Blanc. I could imagine if France have a good Euros, he could be the perfect option with his increased reputation, not mentioning his already excellent credentials as a manager.

Maybe this is the reason we are biding our time in regards to appointing someone? I hope so anyway

I hope it's Blanc too. He would be a risk but his record so far is outstanding. Bordeaux hadn't won the league in god knows how long before he joined them and France were a shambles before he was appointed - they hadn't won a tournament game since the 2006 wc semi final!

Plus, unlike AVB, the players can't fail to respect him, the man is a winner, pure and simple.

I know people are excited/curious as I am too, but when someone is offering you a window of information that you wouldnt previously have, dont try to hold them to ransom and feverishly ask for information like rabbid dogs, i'm not sure that'l make people really want to sit and have a normal discussion/share information haha, just a guess anyway... :p

Agree with all of that. Only difference is I'd like Blanc more than Moyes, and AVB maybe a smidgeon more than Moyes. I see big potential upsides in all three though.
