what they mean is while 606 is alive on radio, they will set up a twitter & Facebook and use their servers for discussions etc

While that makes sense from a business point of view, I can't be arsed with Facebook, or Twitter

I really don't understand why more discussion groups don't use Google Groups instead of lashing out what must be thousands and thousands of pounds between them on server fees, licenses and such like.

The BBC's online budget is being cut by 25% so I guess the 606 boards are part of those cuts.

As long as the radio show continues I'm not bothered, it's always good for a laugh. I have never been to the 606 "forums".

To be honest, the comments could simply move onto PushNote if people adopt that, the BBC news site is awash with PushNote comments on articles which people wish to comment on.

It's because of 606 that I ended up on SC (be thankful or angry according to your likes). 606 used to be available 24 hours a day. Then they stopped it between 10pm and 8am and so I went in search of a Spurs forum. I liked the look of SC and so here I am.

As far as I'm concerned, 606 has been crap since that change, so I won't shed any tears over it's demise.

Plus (without sounding like I'm sucking up) I reckon the Mods on SC are up to the task of weeding out any WUMs or overly-numpty numpties who may wander in.

For a second I thought this meant the radio station and was going to get upset.

This I don't care about.
