If nothing else, this comp has given us a suped up Keiran Trippier.

Coming back to us twice the player he was before the tourney started.

With all things considered, we did more than OK this tournament..

We'll be better in 4 years time..that's a certainty

England have been flattered by a very kind draw. They have potential but are long way off looking like tournament winners

I know that 98% won’t agree with me and this is not a overreaction but I think England could do with a better manager than Southgate. He never changes the system in game, his team doesn’t press, play too slow, doesn’t create many chances from open play. That’s just my opinion

I disagree. I think he has done wonders with what is, in reality, a very limited squad. He’s managed to get us to the semi finals of the World Cup without a midfield.

All I hope is that he continues his positive attitude to bringing new young players into the fold, because if we are going to get to the point where we can match up to the likes of Belgium and Croatia, we are going to need players who can dictate the tempo of games, retain possession and create chances.

True. But they were ten minutes away from being at least runners up.

Millovalic cabaye and mcarther play cm for palace. RLC played in a more attacking wide role, which I believe suits him better at this stage of his career

I know. Sadly my mate thinks I am a palace supporter and bores me with everything palace
So he was always wide and and Cabaye etc never crossed from wide.
Seriously my mate is watching the game with me. He knows where RLC plays and what he has done and from where.
As I've repeatedly said Ali/Henderson/Lingard didn't work - I'd never of thought it!! I was Just offering a potential solution for one particular game to address the Croatia MF problem in the context of the squad Southgate took and did reserve judgement on RLC.

Poch and Kane need to have a very honest conversation, like tonight. It's not all to blame on what system he's been played in, some of the main concerns have been there since the end of the season when he came back from injury - mainly that the 'explosive' qualities in his game have just completely gone away. I am struggling to remember him really going at a sprint this tournament, running full throttle. His movement is subdued in my opinion, he's not pressing very well at all for my liking, and he's not causing defenders nuisance and roughing them up over 90 minutes. As this tournament has gone on, he's even stopped shooting when normally he only needs a sniff with either foot and he's smashing them goal bound.

Maybe it's just he's knackered, in that case he needs a proper rest - whatever date the season starts. If he misses it for his benefit longer term, so be it. But if there is still an issue with his ankle for instance, it needs sorting out. As I said the other day, tbh I don't want this version of Kane back at Spurs for the new season. Still maybe poaching (lots of) goals, but nowhere near what we know he can be. Watching him play though right now I think it's at the point where we cant just keep flogging him every single match (club and country) season in season out for short term measures.

Kane doesn’t look well
He hasn't looked right for ages.

Needed to heal up properly from his last injury.

Ambition is great, but you have to listen to your body or it could all go the other way.

Poch has to handle him with great care this season.

We need to bring in a solid striker to help take the load off.

Rashford offers zip.
Lingard offers a touch more but still nowhere near enough
Jones should have to get his England shirt from Sports Direct

Yes, indeed. I agree...the re-connection with the fans and the nation in general has been encouraging to witness.

As for actually winning the world cup, that's a pipe dream, but we do have a raft of very good players coming through now..I'm encouraged with the future..

I doubt he'd last a full season in the PL.

Media has gone overboard with him based on beating some average teams

At the end of the day this is still the same shit boring England in open play.
