I must say much as I dislike Liverpool (even more so with their twatty Kane behaviour) I did like to see their midfield three of Milner-Henderson-Oxlaide-Chamberlain.

Especially given midfield engine room has been a weak area for us.

Gives another option.

We’re going to dazzle and blow everyone away, last six game have seen us score 4 and concede 1... how can anybody say they’re not excited about this England team :woot:

We’ve potentially got a far more exciting team but I have little faith that Southgate will mould then into a decent attacking unit and instead opt for flashy but inconsistent pace of Lingard, Sterling & Rashford leaving Kane isolated rather than any kind of solid attacking unit

Milner's retired from international football so we'd need someone else in there instead of him. I'm still not convinced about the other two but as you say there aren't many other alternatives.

It didn't look good for Oxlade Chamberlain last night. I wonder if he's going to miss the world cup now?

The way he was writhing around and screaming in agony suggests it was a bad one.

Its just been confirmed that he'll miss the world cup. That's a real shame as he's been in good form in the last couple of months.
Lallana is probably going to miss out as well.

Joe Gomez has just had an op and will miss the rest of the season and the world cup.

Shame for him, think Trent Alexander Arnold might get a call up now, seems a guaranteed starter for Liverpool either in midfield or defence.

Guys, I have a problem. I swore to myself that I wasn't going to get excited this time. Been hurt too many times.

But then I saw that ITV have released their trailer. This led me down memory lane watching old trailers including my favourite ever from Euro 2004.

I'm currently crying whilst listening to Nessun Dorma. Why the fuck do I do this every single bloody time?!

Anyone watching The Debate on Sky. Dennis Wise and Steve McMahon are picking their England squad and starting eleven. No wonder they can't get a job.

The squad must be announced soon, I'm praying Southgate does not pick any Spurs players. I'd rather they be given the summer off and not be infected by the stench of mediocrity that infests this England team. If we get beyond the group stage I'll be amazed. We have no decent goalie, no good centre halves, no creativity in midfield and a manager whose only claim to fame was that he got relegated with Boro. It's going to be embarrassing, I'm dreading it.

Seeing as we have zero possibility of winning the world cup, or even getting to the knockout stage if we're being honest, why bother turning up? Hopefully the Russians will try and kill another Spy or something so we can boycott the whole thing and not humiliate ourselves.

I think I read that the announcement would be on May 16th.

As for no Spurs players, you know as well as I that there's zero chance of that ever happening.

Announcement is on Wednesday, not sure of the date without switching to my calendar and quite frankly, I can't be bothered.

I want England to get as far as possible because I'm, you know, English. So if Southgate feels like the best way to do this is to pick no Spurs players or as many as 5, I'll be behind the squad.

Only player I can realistically see missing out is Rose. I think Kane, Dele, Dier and Trippier will be going.
