better yet, how is Kazakhstan in Europe? At least half a dozen Asian Confederation nations extend further west.

I think when all these various European organisations were first formed no one bothered to insist on participants must actually be in Europe as part of the entry criteria because they assumed only Europeans would apply hence why UEFA now includes a country that borders Iran, the Eurovision Song Contest this year will not only be held in Israel but will also include Australia among the competitors while Egypt, Libya, Jordan, and Algeria are members of the European Broadcasting Union.

Yet his tooth was fine when playing for the scum the day before? And if you believe that he was so desperate to play he offered to fly solo then you need your head read. If you’re that desperate to play then fly solo rather than “offer”

This begs the question, "How much influence did Klopp have in keeping back one of his players back from the internationals?" I find it hard to believe that the problem was so bad it could not be put off for a a week or two. That however may have meant Liverpool having to lose him for the Spurs game!!!!

As you say, if he was, that desperate to pull the Scottish shirt on, he could have found a way.

That said, I am a club before country supporter, so I can see a reason for it happening.

I'm watching Georgia against Switzerland. There's just been a massive clash of heads. Schar looked like he was unconscious before he hit the floor. They stopped play for about five minutes but play's continued now with both players still on the pitch. The Georgian guy has a massive bandage on his head. Maybe it wasn't as bad as it looked, but It still feels like football doesn't take head injuries seriously enough. It's English officials in charge of the game as well.

I haven't seen the clip but in no other sport would a player who seemingly gets knocked out be allowed to continue. That sounds horrendous.

Football still, after all these years, continues to fail on the subject of head injuries. I thought we were turning a corner after AVB was hounded for not taking Lloris off after Hugo was knocked out, but nothing's changed.

It's ridiculous. The players put him in the recovery position and then the ref and the manager think he's ok to continue.

Surreal stuff.. The Rock in view behind one of the goals, airport behind the far touchline and British Bobbies doing the police duty stuff.

And people wonder why we’re bitter about Grealish and Rice defecting. It’s bloody painful to watch. I expect a higher level of ability at the Lane tomorrow.

And that’s no joke about Keane. We’ve scored 1 in five games. Are we really saying he couldn’t have scored more?
