F1 has been dull for years. I used to like qualifying more than the race.

Touring car is my motor sport of choice now. It would be rallying cross but its never on the box.

vettel should given up the place and raced Lewis if you want to see a race and not a time trial. It was so poor from Vettel.
I think that is the ironic part - had Vettel conceded the place, he likely would have passed Hamilton before the end of the race. Ferrari were much stronger in Sectors 2 and 3, and when you add DRS - I think Vettel passes Hamilton easily.

But Mercedes had then faster race trim and I believe the DRS detection zone before the hairpin? I think Hamilton would have been able to keep out the 1 second zone and nullified their speed advantage down the back straight.

Me personally I think the penalty was tough, but Vettel only had himself to blame as he made the mistake in an area where you can’t overtake.

Go back to the Monaco Grand Prix and Hamilton made no errors under pressure from Verstappen and made good use of the track to slow down the pace at the hairpin to open up the gap to the back marker in front and then use the better acceleration into the tunnel to pull away.

The respective pace at that point of the GP would have seen Hamilton disappear off. The Merc was far quicker on the hard tyre, which is why Hamilton twice reduced the gap from 5 secs to less than 0.5 secs

Flawless performance from Hamilton today. This season is done, as far as the drivers championship is concerned, imo.
Yeah Hamilton was untouchable. I agree the World Title is over, its Hamilton’s.

It’s pretty clear that Lewis is one of the all time greats, may be even the greatest and you get the feeling he will hammer that home over the next few years

It’s awful watching a formula one when they all aren’t even trying to run at full speed

Still got a lot to do if he wants to be up there with Senna and Schumacher. For now he’s just a very good driver with the best car, who got beaten by the distinctly average Rosberg. I doubt he’ll ever live that down. Schumacher never lost a title to an inferior teammate.

Schumacher was always the#1 driver and that was always made clear. The situations can’t even be compared

British GP today is the best race I've seen for a while.

Anybody watching?

Thank God we had rain today... what a race it’s given us. Turns out Merc can make mistakes.

Both Alfas were given 30 second time penalties so Williams has got its first point. I repeat. WILLIAMS HAS A POINT!

So parabolica is causing issues again - this time it was Kimi having a wreck there and costing others their lap times, but that's pretty much marshmallow compared to why it happened. They had put in a raised kerb earlier in the week, to try to stop drivers taking liberties on the dimensions of the corner and running super-wide, but they took it out because during the F3 race, Alex Peroni found out that this happens...

   survived, he's doing alright.

It beggars belief that this was considered safe...the kid is lucky to be alive after that.

F1 cutting its own throat, disgraceful team orders 7 laps in pointless sport now.
