Ruptured ankle ligaments don't heal in 9 days. Can't see him playing the Open.

I was thinking of having a punt on Donald at 100-1. But I didn't so he's safe.

Not so Tiger. 2 bogeys to start. Not good.

I'm on Spieth, D Johnson and Fowler, all EW at various stakes.

The course is getting hammered so far. Looking like a good time to be out now with the wind expected to pick up a little towards the end of the day and rain expected tomorrow morning.

Casey E/W at 50-1 and Wiesberger E/W at 80/1.

Course bit back in the afternoon when the wind got up. Should be some interesting scores tomorrow with the wind set to continue.

Also, look out for Paul Dunne, young amateur from here in Ireland. I actually played with him in schools competition about 10 years ago, he would have been about 13/14 at the time, I shot a great round of 79, he shot 62.....

Those odds are terrible. Don't think I would back Fowler at 166-1. I normally back Stenson for the majors. One day I'll get a return!!!

I don't think they're that bad. Obviously you wouldn't back him now at that price but it didn't look too bad at the start of the tournament. He just won the Scottish open a week ago and placed in something like four majors in a row barely a year ago. He finishes top 7 and your trebling your money near enough

Play again suspended, this time due to high winds

Cutting greens was a mistake this morning also, slow greens better than no greens

Turning into a bit of a shambles. A few of the big names are furious at being made to play when the winds were nearly 50 mph. The betting will be interesting now, I can see someone coming from way back to contend this.

Awww do they not like playing in the wind? Poor sods. I for one think pro golfers get it too easy. They get called in when it rains, don't play in gusty conditions and play perfectly manicured courses every week. I'd send them out, see what they are really made of.

It's the fact the balls were moving on the greens. That's what makes it unplayable. If you address your ball on the green and it moves you are liable for a penalty stroke. Wind or no wind.

Incorrect. New rule was passed after 2010. You can address your ball with no penalty if it moves.

The modern player is too precious. And there's too much money at stake. Also they shouldn't have cut the greens. Tough if the players like quick greens. They shouldn't be telling the r&a how to set up the course.

Pretty sure the ruling still requires judgement for each individual case. It's hardly practical to potentially have a ruling judged at each players ball address. This is the reason they suspended. Not whinging players.

Agree with this though.
