It wasn't a disgraceful decision. Possibly wrong, but never disgraceful. From where the linesman was it looked in. We're still debating it over fifty years later, when he had one look at it without the benefit of slow motion replays:

It didn't cross the line!

It was in!

I put this down to really bad timing more than anything else. People have got other things on their minds at the moment rather than knighthoods. Hopefully someone will restart the campaign in a few months.

You're probably right but how sad would it be if we lost him before this terrible wrong could have been put right. He's now 80 years old remember and not in the best of health obviously.

In lieu of any actual medical skills or superpowers, if good vibes work, he's got all of mine headed his way. Get well, Jimmy.

Please.

It wasn't until I watched the documentary recently that I discovered how much he'd been through in life. Losing an infant, getting hepatitis, on top of the injury that cost him the world cup final. I knew about his alcohol problem, but not the extent of it. I also didn't realise he played for Barnet, and he reckons he scored his best goal there.

I like how a poor season for him was 29 goals in 48. Can you imagine?

Come on Jimmy! Pull through mate.

Sorry I actually was Jimmy Greaves when I was 8/9/10/11 and nobody can tell me any diferent.
Jumpers for goalposts on Stoke Newington Common almost every day with me muckers.

Thinking of you JPG.

This battle - Give it your best shot - a cheeky one.

I was a bit further up the road in Springfield Park. My mate was always Jimmy so I had to be Gilly. I never minded though.

Speedy recovery Sir Jimmy.

Pull through it Jimmy

My Dad's favourite player - hence my avatar.

My Dad's gone, but let's hope Jimmy can stay with us a bit longer
