For me it would put us over the top in cup competitions rather than the league. How many times have we made it into the late rounds of cup competitions in the years since Bale left only to put in horribly flat performances? Bale takes those games by the scruff of the neck and puts in match-winning performances. I'd be very hopeful that we'll get a trophy or two over the next two seasons if he can stay fit for the important matches.
