I actually don't think it's as bad as it looks.

He knows Bayern as he worked there so knows the structure, people and expectations. Worked well there too so he won't have to prove himself in some cases.

He has much better players at his disposal and the youth players are exciting..

It is also a limited league in terms of contenders.

Which matches his Ajax career.

Also, if they fail to win CL, the bar has been lowered slightly.

He has been crap for United but was good in his first 6 months so perhaps he changed his methods or lost some players and hasn't been able to get it back.

My feeling is that this is what has happened with him at United, he's compromised to the point where he's lost all authority and he probably realises himself that his time there is up.

In a new job he might (emphasis on might) be more determined to keep more true to himself and his principles.

He has lost the players at Man U so I can't see the players at BM giving him any respect.
