Given their next few fixtures I wonder if the new manager (whoever it is) will want to hold off taking over for a couple of matches so they can start with some easier games.

You're giving them far too much credit. They haven't got anyone lined up yet. It could take them ages to find someone.

Marco Silva exposed at top level I would say. Not only is he tactically average, he has been jumping clubs a lot as well.

Hull 36.4% win
Watford 30.8% win
Everton 40.0% win

Getting 36,4% with that Hull squad was, to be fair, quite a good achievment, but he should absolutely have done better with the squads he's had at the latter two.

He was doing ok at Watford until he made it clear that he wanted to leave. I think he's blown his chance in England now. Top teams wouldn't want him and smaller teams probably wouldn't trust him.

Everton's problem is pretty obvious, the owner has money but no overall plan for the club besides the new stadium. Lurching from one extreme to the other in choices of manager is never a good sign, and they appear to buy players on whims and potential rather than actually scouting them and seeing if they fit the squad. Why the hell did they need to pay Arsenal £30m for Iwobi when they had loads of attacking midfielders in the squad already? Why did they even buy Walcott for £20m in the first place? How did they end up with loads of number 10s and no strikers, and then sign loads of wingers and still have to play Calvert-Lewin up front?

Sure they've had some bad luck as well, they signed Gbamin to replace Gueye and he's been injured since the third game of the season (won one, drew one with him in the side), and then they lost Gomes horribly as well, so the midfield pairing Silva was counting on are both unavailable. Delph has had a stop-start time with niggling injuries as well so they're down to playing Davies and Sigurdsson at CM, and everyone except Dim knows Sigurdsson can't play well that deep.

Any manager who goes in will have a tough time, and they know it.

It's decent, but nowhere near as good as people made it out to be.

27 points from 22 games would have been 46 points over the whole season, from a squad that was expected to do a Derby before the season started, had a good start under Phelan before tailing off massively, and was barely strengthened in January.

That was better than decent.

Nigel Pearson now odds on to succeed QSF at Watford. Blast from the past, the club obviously hadn't planned for what has happened this season.

Bet he used the Arsenal interest to get himself some more money even if he never intended to leave.

Agent: "I've leaked some stories that Arsenal are interested"
Brenda: "Excellent"
