we were farking animals for a few years but 2 years away from home, lack of investment in playing side and some bloomin unlucky injuries (Wanyama, Dier, Dembele) have cost us - such a shame to be honest.

I'm not sure how I should react to this.

I told a fellow Spurs fan who's very much Poch in that one of the reasons why fans are so concerned and have started to have questions about the manager's future is
our poor form over the the 2019 calendar year, not just the start of this season.

He rebutted by saying I should not be harping on the calendar year results and that run to the CL final affected our form for the 2nd half of last season. He went to say to be fair, focus on this season alone and that to include last season's form is baggage and should not be taken into account.

Tell me how I should react to this fan, lads.

We're just as shit at the beginning of this season than we were at the end of the last so it's not really any different :ROFLMAO:

1) Congratulate him on his optimism and say that you'll revisit the topic on boxing day.

2) If you have an eye for trends in general, stocks, voting patterns, and other forms of results, trends aren't aware of their supposed starting or end dates. Their oblivious to human logic, or what seems like logic but is not. Trends just start, sometimes at random, sometimes not, sometimes at the end of one period to be carried over to next period.

Our present trend, OK, which is a point a game, has a very specific starting point. It goes back to Burnley on the 23rd of February. Before that, we were doing quite well, indeed far better than "only" top 4 quality. On and after Burnley, our trend shifted dramatically, it's a very clear break from the previous trend.

At the point I'm referring to, we had only played one CL match in 2019, 10 days earlier. The next CL match was a couple of weeks later. In those two matches, we were flying, we performed very, very well against Dortmund. But in the league, we were performing poorly. One reason was that we met really good opposition. We know that this is one reason, because in April, vs. poorer opposition, we pulled off a couple of good matches. Remember also that for all of March, we actually only played three matches total that entire month, unless I'm forgetting something but I doubt that.

So we know that the match programme wasn't jaded in February and March, it was indeed jaded in April beyond doubt, but by that time, our present PL trend had already set in.

This is a very long post but it has a point. Before fans start just making up shit, it would be wise to look at facts, apply a reasonable amount of common sense, and admit that we have a problem that started last season and is carried over to today.

Tbh, and I know this may sound like revisionism at it's finest, but even at our peak the style of play was a lot of huff and puff, and when it worked it really worked, but we still had plenty of frustrating games where we just couldn't break through.

Sometimes it maybe seemed more scintillating than it really was because if we were really on it we'd score lots of goals.

Or maybe I am just rewriting history, hard to tell without going back and rewatching.
This is revisionism.

It’s a rating on an internet forum. No use getting worked up about

Not getting worked up. I just noticed east London yid prancing about on the forum dishing out doh and dislike ratings to everyone like it’s gone out of fashion. If you are going to disagree or doh a post, atleast have the balls to make your point and reasoning. He’s flying around like a silent ninja dishing out his ratings, then fucking off into the wilderness.

You think east London is the wilderness? Have you seen Leytonstone lately? Or Waltham Forsest? They have more gourmet pubs and Nando’s than the entire county of Devon. And please don’t update us on how hard he is.

In the hope that I escape your wrath, I gave your post a dislike because you disrespected ninjas. They don't deserve that ;)
