I thought we gave away the ball loads tonight. Maybe not in really dangerous areas but if we do that again against Liverpool we will be in trouble. It’s why I think he will change the midfield and bring winks back in.

I think 'loads' is a little over the top, especially as you reference our CMs.

Overall pass success rate of 88%

NDombele 91% and Sissoko 92%

Son with the lowest at 77%.

Aurier was the most dispossessed man on the pitch @ 6 times, which is the only worrying thing for me.

Don’t worry about that, that’s an improvement from him.

The thing is, while all things considered yesterday was obviously a net positive, I really don't trust Poch to clock the reasons (formation, tactics, personnel changes) and put it all down to confidence. I fully expect him to go back to Toby/Winks/Eriksen against Liverpool

We have to play an aggressive, tactical game and take our chances as they will take theirs.

I hope you are wrong about winks but I agree. Would love to keep the same team as last night but I feel he will want to try and retain possession and dictate the tempo.
One of my mates was telling me that winks and ndombele were the same type of player. I told him he's a @#£&
Without ndombele we lose the incisive balls forward. Winks is a quality player but in order to score we need ndombele, otherwise we play side to side.
Could always attempt to get ndombele playing further forward in the 10 type role as I think he has the ability, but neither Dele or Lamela should be losing their place. In my opinion, both are crucial to that flowing one touch football we saw in the first 20.

Please Poch, be brave and start Ndombele. Keep the same team!

That's the risk. Would a new manager walk in and straighten things out, or would things get worse in the long term? That's what needs to be evaluated. As things stand, I'm in the give Poch time to fix things camp!

We have indeed been poor since February, arguably even before February. We showed great courage to get to the CL final, although we had a great chunk of luck too.

So there are obviously serious issues in the team, it's not just a monthly blip. We're getting what our performances deserve. The question is, how do we get out of this long-term slump.
So after seeing us play as we did last night I'm more inclined to stick by him, but was a reminder of how we can perform at our best. I know the opposition might not have been great, but then neither are Watford, Brighton, Newcastle, Colchester etc...

What we need now is for him to play the same side at the weekend, no pissing about rotating for the sake of it or changing the system. Same team, get a performance again and the result is almost irrelevant as long as we play well. Then wins against Everton and Sheff Utd are more important.

Of course he CAN turn this round, we've had poor spells before, this one though has lasted a whole season and then some. If the solution is to do away with Eriksen, Rose, Toby then do it, stick to his guns and don't use them. A big part of me is still worried that they'll be back for the weekend though and last night was just standard rotation that happened to work out for the best.

Yep I'm still worried he'll bring the others back in on Sunday. Seems so obsessed with over rotation and puts it above anything else.

If he picks the same side, maybe only making a minor tweak, my confidence will rise considerably.

For me the team selection is massive this Sunday, as it will show he's learned from his mistakes.

The best managers continue to learn from their mistakes and adapt.

Last night we saw a hungry side with everyone comfortable in their roles. He has to build on that.

Watch when TA, Eriksen, Rose and Winks all come back.

Well done Poch! You deserve all the credit for selection, tactics. Letting TN for example play his Lyon position. Dropping CE, Toby, and Danny. No diamond, but interplay with aggressive forwards. I know it was only RSB, who are a shit team. But! So was Watford ?
Love this and spot on.
Just hope the rumours about losing the dressing room etc are bollocks and it’s just a case that a few players want out which has disrupted morale and hopefully now season is settled down we can kick in AND once we clear them out by end of this season and add 3-4 more quality ins like ndombele and lo celso standard then we could have a cracking season next year if poch is still motivated to turn us around. Match Liverpool's standard formation. I see where you are going with that. Thing is, Dier is well away from the best version of himself, and against Liverpool we would need the dier of old.

I wonder if Poch will go 3 at the back again and try to exploit the weekends that ManYo outlined.

As others have said though, I really hope he sticks to his guns and doesn't bring back the want aways!

He can't win really. If he tries to give players a chance to play themselves into form he gets crucified, and if he hooks them out of the lineup it's over rotation.

Sunday is huge. I cant see Winks not starting. Which is fine, as long as Dier starts with Ndombele in a 3. Then Lamela (if he can start twice in a week) and Son flanking England-style-Kane.

Fuck those saying the team were shit last night, you still have to destroy shit teams and that's what we did last night, at the very least it was encouraging.

Not exactly, if he's hooking players that played badly no one will complain, no-one played badly last night, and Davies for example should be fine to play twice a week at this stage so there is no good reason to rotate him out. Thus, if Rose starts at the weekend, I'll be pretty miffed.

People will always have different views and interpretation of events.

If the manager plays young players in the cups he is not taking the competition seriously, if he doesn't then he isn't giving the young players a chance.

If he plays the same team all the time he doesn't rotate or rest players, if he doesn't then he doesn't know what his best team is.

There are millions of examples of this but we can't judge a manager on these factors.
