He can't win really. If he tries to give players a chance to play themselves into form he gets crucified, and if he hooks them out of the lineup it's over rotation.
I think Sunday is a free pass... an opportunity to stick with last night's team and let them continue to flourish.

Yeah the free pass is conditional on him picking the same 11 bar injuries In my opinion. I'm heavily in the Poch in camp but I won't be able to defend any major tinkering.

Sorry that's just bullshit.

He's chopped and changed so much it's no wonder we've looked disjointed and devoid of confidence.

What we need is continuity, playing the players who want to be here and in a system they understand and are comfortable on.

Yes adjust tactics accordingly, but the over rotation and constant changes in system is so unnecessary.

You don't see Liverpool and City changing to they extent.

Agree. We'll see if last night was genuinely an ousting of disruptive/disinterested/underperforming players, or just resting "key" players because it was Red Star, ahead of the Anfield trip.

I hope the former. But if we're back to the negative shit come 6:30pm, then... well, whatever happens, happens.

I've been pretty consistent in here that I couldn't see Poch turning it around, but last night was finally a bit of progress. Totally in the same boat as @Hercules recent posts in here. Poch was making it increasingly hard to back him with all the constant changes to personnel and formations, moaning about unsettled players and playing all of them. I couldn't see a way out.

Focus on what he did last night and it suddenly becomes a lot easier to support him. He's started saying the right things and now he's also doing the right things. Back to basics, using the more committed players playing in roles and a formation they are comfortable with. Needs to build from here.

I still have concerns about his tactical acumen at the highest level but he has proven capable of beating anyone when the players are on side. He certainly deserves a chance to try and turn things around based on past success, but he has to give us something to believe it's possible, and a clear and consistent plan is the only way.

Yeah I mean Rose has been poor and Davies had a great game, you can't just drop Davies when there's 5 days between the games when the person he's competing with has been terrible. The Alder one I'm a little on the fence about because it seemed a coin toss whether Jan or Alder was performing worse but what's imperative to me is that Sanchez gets to continue.

One swollow does not maketh a Winter

Great result after the horrendous performance v Watford. Great energy and workrate for 25mins tonight

We saw the same start v Palace and a great 35mins v Bayern but for the most part we’ve been poor

Dele still looked miles off it to me and we really miss Eriksens creativity and passing range. Plus Jan is suddenly turning into Michael Dawson (no offence to Daws, loved him)

Long long way to go. Luckily the next ones an easy one at Anfield. Will be interesting to see how we perform there

H looked hungry again tonight though. He was desperate for the hat trick but good to see him get a brace

My worry is last night was a one off rather than the start of a recovery.

Fact is Rose and Eriksen on recent form should be nowhere near the squad any longer. Poch kept picking them why exactly?! Why has it taken him so long to pick a balanced side in a formation that suits?

Also last night the opposition were absolute shit and we still looked shaky defensively.

That said of course there were positives to hold onto also! If Poch can get us winning again great but I still have huge reservations about him tactically and I still think the writing is on the wall.

The deciding factor for me is that Sanchez looks much happier on the right, so he replaces Toby. We simply must have his pace at the back.

Only seen the highlights as I was out last night (deliberately - I didn't want to watch it), how did we play overall?

The BT Sport highlights made it look like we did nothing spectacular aside from capitalise on a lot of poor Red Star defending and midfield errors. Which is fine of course, that's exactly what we should be doing.

The players looked a lot more up for it than they have done in recent months, though.

Ndombele, Sanchez and Lamela looked really good from what I saw. Hoping Poch sticks with this line up on Sunday, perhaps bringing Lo Celso in for Sissoko to see how he goes. Will be pretty galling if any of our attacking midfield 3 get dropped for Eriksen.

At no one is particular, but something I have noticed over the years on Spurs Community, and I am no psychologist, is the split between posters personality types:

Positive / Negative
Optimistic / Pessimistic

I fall into the former and always hope that the next good performance is just around the corner.

Others, I have noticed, actually seem to revel in the negativity that adversity brings, justifying their responses by deriding the hopeful as delusional and casting themselves as the enlightened realists.

Personally I couldn't really care less, but I'm totally amused by the arguments over who is right or wrong and how polarised people become, evidenced so clearly in this particular thread.

It's almost as if some people can't even contemplate that other people hold differing views.

It's not for me. I've too many friends who are liverpool fans and will be giving me a hard time should they thrash us.

Agree though. Don't let the bad eggs back in.
