but lacks a real out and out flyer which would be nice, although with Watson not ready yet and Wade/Yarde injured we were a bit limited in that regard.

May is fast. Really, really fast. Over 100m probably the quickest of all three. He's done the 100 in 10.71 - he's a flyer for sure.

In the context of Nowell and Brown though you're right. Long term (i.e. potentially after the World Cup) I'd be interested in seeing (it's actually quite similar to what Clive Woodward put a short while ago):

9. Youngs
10. Ford
11. Yarde
12. Manu
13. May - he plays there sometimes for Glos, but would need to spend more time there to justify his place. Otherwise Daly, Joseph and Trinder are good player
14. Wade
15. Watson

That would be an incredibly quick side, with a good degree of skill and power as well

Top stat - France have won every 5 or 6 Nations after a Lions tour

At 11/4 they are a decent price

Anyone from Wales, England, France or Ireland can win it

It'll come down to the games between those four teams. France and England have two at home and one away, Wales and Ireland have two away, one at home. I'd go with France if I had to pick one for the title. Don't think there'll be a Grand Slam this year.

Surprised by that, whenever I have seen May he strikes me as no slouch, but is someone who is quick over a long distance (similar to Bale really, they just keep going) and not as explosive off the mark. I also wonder whether he would get the space he needs though to dart and weave about... We shall see though.

I don't think May has what it takes to play 13. Lightening quick bit I'm not sure about some of his skills. The rest of it looks good. Wade needs to improve on defence IMO. One player who I think will make a difference at top is Eastmond. Had a few problems but I feel England need to persist with him, he has a bit of "X factor".

I love the Italian anthem. Shame a few idiots couldn't keep quiet during the minute silence.

Good result for Italy. Disjointed performance from Wales, but a win is a win.

I'm going for a French win against England (but only cos I'm usually wrong!)

Our defence and set pieces look ropey, but our ball recycling in attacking possession was much more fluid than usual. It's like a complete reverse of the England of the last decade.

They look like scoring a try every time they attack Nowell's wing sadly. Lets hope he settles.

WTF.

Goode showing his extreme lack of pace. Done on the outside there FFS.

Nowell looks all at sea unfortunately.

We could do with a decent bounce occasionally, but the kicking from France seems to be working. Could do with May coming back but it doesn't look like he will.

It's stupid showing video referee replays in the stadium, the French crowd boo it every time even though there was nothing in that.

Fortunately Nigel Owens is a sensible ref.

Does anyone else find the the modern rugby "fight" which consists of some noisy cuddles (cwtches if you're Welsh) irritating and pathetic?
I do long for the days when an actual punch would be thrown.

Way too many mistakes. Handling, decision making, giving away penalties.

They were supposed to be compensating for the shit cricket team. Did they not get the memo?
