I think this is perfect for England. Have been poor but bonus point achieved and shit loads to work on. Eddie will be getting into them after this.

My worry is a complete lack of creative spark throughout the game. Not sure where that is going to come from.

Well they certainly haven't peaked too early!

Unless that was against Ireland.

Didn't get any better second half but hopefully that's first game jitters out the way. Some of the handling, particularly amongst the forwards, has been very poor though and needs to be better in future matches. It's going to be greasy conditions throughout the tournament and you have to look after the ball.

They'll get out the group. But to go any further they'll have to massively improve on today's performance.

Oh yeah, for sure but I reckon you will. The thing I’d be worried about is that you’ll have two massive full blooded games against France and Argentina just before the QTRS. you’ve got great depth but you need to keep your key players fit going into the qtr final against Oz or Wales.

Or Georgia or Fiji

I thought england were ok but it just felt like a game they had to get through. Manu was great.

Also I was so relieved when joseph got up, he almost got decapitated.

I think a few of the handling errors come from players expecting big hits coming in as they receive tha ball. It's often a pretty big factor in players taking their eye off the ball and it's something you have to expect against the likes of Tonga and Samoa.

They've got this on the screens at work. I can't stand the sport, but the officiating is worlds apart from football from what I can see - bear in mind I don't know the rules.

As you don’t know much about the sport let me tell you that Georgia are considered to be the best team in the world which makes this Wales performance very impressive.

Best thing football could learn from is how to handle the interactions between refs and the players. In rugby only the captain talks to the ref unless spoken to. And players who argue back etc. are disciplined therefore you dont get all the crowding round the ref and all that like you do in football.

Agreed, in part. Because I do want one player to lose his cool and send Mike Dean flying into space with an uppercut one day.
