Sure, we could. And we might end up doing it.

But this is the wishlist thread, and I wish to have a striker option. And I don't think it affects DM and RB being the higher priorites.

Might have come across as dismissive but I was actually adding to your post, not contesting it.

I believe we could do with another striker option too, but I would like to see Parrott given a chance before we enter the market to look for one.

The choices imo, let Parrott be that option. But then he also needs to play every now and then to not hinder his development. The other option is an older striker like Llorente was. Mandzukic is maybe the best option, I don't know really.

I'd love Mandzukic for a bench option, we would be hard pressed to find a better option than him.

And if one of them get injured then that is one less wf AND one less striker option at the same time. I'd prefer if we had fresh legs to throw on, if we need them.

That's the same argument as what if the backup striker gets injured

He's getting old but he has always been a proper hard worker. Hasn't got a chance at Juve this season. Loan to the end of the season at least?

I think we need a new left back as well. Rose is done and needs to be moved on, Davies is a decent back up but not good enough to be a regular starter and Sessegnon is far too inexperienced in that position.

This is the interesting point.

A new manager means a fresh start for many players.

Aurier has already put in two solid performances. If KWP is seen as good back then maybe in the short term we won't need a new right back.

Rose and Davies have a chance to regain their spot if they want it.

The next challenge is central midfield.

I would be OK with no Jan signings if Jose can get good performances from the above mentioned.

He has a habit of scoring important goals too, in a similar ilk to Llorente for us last season.

A loan with an option to buy at the end of the season for a low fee could be perfect for both clubs.

Not that this is directed at you in specific, but more the general consensus on Davies.

Davies is not a world class attacking full back that’s a given, but he is well and above decent backup. He is miles ahead of Rose defensively, and he really isn’t that bad going forward either albeit a little on the safe side.

He is good enough to be a regular starter for us, and we cannot have world class players in every position no other club on Earth will have that either.

The problem is he is a tidy, quiet defender who does his job exceptionally well most of the time, but because he’s not flashy or fast he doesn’t get noticed for what he brings to the table.

Poch needed attacking minded full backs with pace and a cross and not much else in the locker, but Mourinho seems to favor one of each type of full back. One defensive, one attacking minded.

I honestly think we need to stop writing Davies off as “good enough” he’s done really well for us.

Rotation full back? Perfect description but not good enough is just miles off.

That is probably fair comment tbh, especially as Mourinho's style of play doesn't require the same degree of energy and pace from fullbacks.

Still think we will need another left back to rotate with Davies though, Rose is so far his best that I think Jesus (son of God, messiah etc rather than Poch's assistant) would struggle to resurrect his Tottenham career.

Happy for Vertonghen to play that role seeing as it doesn't require him to bust a gut and overlap the winger, something he's not keen on doing.

Mandzukic scored in every CL final he played and in World Cup final too, he would great for us and he can also play on left wing (wide forward). We need winners like him to get some trophies.
