I wonder who we are looking at for DM. Would love for us to get someone in the Ndidi mould, quick and agile yet still strong and aggressive. Dier is fine as a squad player for backup DM/CB and we all know Wanyama is finished sadly. There's bound to be affordable options in Germany/Italy/Spain/France surely.
I’m not sure we are looking for a dm

why would they swap? they can offer eriksen a pre contract in 6 weeks time and get him for nothing.
They wont swap without cash from our side

Otherwise for plenty of reasons
- get a player you need 6mo earlier
- no sign on bonus to CE
- offload Isco earlier (not easy considering his price and current form).
- save 6m+ on Isco's wage

It's all relevant if we are still looking for AM. Fernandes 65+m price tag looks insane for me; Portuguese cls gone mad after that Felix deal

I like the idea of one of our wide players being an effective #10 like Lamela. Isco would probably be a good shout in that role.

and why would Eriksen leave 6 months early for no signing bonus? I'd love for any of it to be true but I dont see why from Real Madrid's point of view, they would give up resources for him rather than wait or why he would go without a signing bonus.

To play. Not leaving soon = benched till end of season

definitely doesn't work as a standalone case yet might work in a swap deal. Say CE + 40-45 mln vs Isco

RM still needs to sell Isco which will unlikely happen in January. He's turning 28 soon and has limited play time, so waiting till summer to max a fee might not be a good idea either

Honestly don't think he's worth it.

Tired of him, after going through the same shit year after year.

Would rather us buy a winger than another cam in Bruno Fernandes as an Eriksen replacement.
We already have Alli and Lo Celso who can play cam.

Move away from this shitty diamond once and for all... Son is so much better on the wing too.

The thing about this transition we are in, if and a big if, we go about this correctly we could have such a beautiful squad next year.

If the likes of Toby, Eriksen, Rose, Wanyama and Aurier all go. I'm actually not too fussed. We may get any where between 50m to 100m for all of these.

We need a RB is so obvious and the likes of Atal or Nathan Ferguson could add much needed pace and attacking play to our right side.

Then at CB i really don't see why we wouldn't go all out for Mings. He's a leader, he's amazing in the air and quick. Him partnered with Sanchez, Foyth, Dier or Tanganga wouldn't worry me one bit. Whilst Toby and Verts are both very classy, with each year that goes by they lose a yard from being average in the speed department anyway and pace at the back is key in this league. Plus it's another home grown box ticked. It makes too much sense.

This would be the defense fairly sorted:

LB: Sess, Davies back up
RB: Atal/Ferguson, Foyth / KWP back up
CBs: Mings, Sanchesz, Foyth, Dier, Tanganga. Maybe Verts if he stays

That would put us in a much better position at the back then we currently are.

Then it comes to Midfield and we know we need a DM massively to allow Ndombele to meet the potential we can all see he has. Zakaria is an option but i'm unsure currently who would be the person for this job. We have Dier and possibly Skipps if he continues to develop. For me Winks and Sissoko are squad players in the CM area. Winks would do a great job 70 minutes in replacing Ndombele, he just offers far too little defensively to play DM. Sissoko can fill in that role late in a game coming on fresh most players will struggle with how physical he is. We just need a really athletic, energetic DM to compliment the unbelievable natural ability we have with Ndombele.

Then we have our attacking players. Son, Lamela with Lo Celso (who i fully expect to exceed in replacing Eriksen) are probably our best 3. Then you have Dele in that mix to see if he can find form with this competition and Lucas.

I'd like us to add just one more powerful runner into that group. Eze at QPR could be that guy, the younger Zaha that Poch wanted and with Clarke if he can develop into the player he looks like he could be. That's some great options.

Then Kane and Troy.

So bascially sign - Atal or Feguson, Mings, DM (Zakaria), Eze and the balance to this team finally starts to take shape and all of these players are easily attainable.

Funny how villa were ridiculed for paying £26m for Mings sure they will probably get easily double that next summer.
Odd that Dier get linked away still think he has a lot to offer us esp if we use foyth and Sanchez at cb.

Mings had hardly played in two years because of injuries before a good few months on loan to them, so it was a definite risky move thats paid off handsomely.

Who would you rather have Ndombele or Tielemans?

Sick of this Tielemans stuff, we have a player who is better already and has world class potential.

They’d had him on loan for a year though hasn’t they so obviously had more information on him than other teams so maybe they knew the transfer wasn’t a risk at that price. He’s not really appeared out of the blue as he was highly rated as a youngster at Ipswich. It’s just those bad injuries that were a worry to everyone apart from Villa.

I see how people are now completely writing off Winks. We have a gem in Harry Winks people say that does he do,
For me Winks is a play maker ...Unfortunately our CB have been totally shit and his been asked to bail them out far to often.

Winks had one really poor game this season against BM he wasn't the only one.

I like the guy for his commitment, fitness and push but could hardly imagine him in a playmaker role as he tends to do too many safe passes...

might be lack of vision and football intelligence as he tends to do the same for England

A play maker is not all about the killer ball. Wink, when on the ball moves the ball quickly . People are seriously confusing our slow play being down to Winks but is actually down to the centre backs who go through an automatic process before hitting that cross field ball or they’ll take an age farting about before giving Winks a suicide ball to deal with. In terms of defending Winks is expected to completely protect the defence this is completely unrealistic when the whole team as a unit has given up on the press.

Anyway it might be a good idea to remove Winks from the team for a period before putting him back in.

Could have had both... Not a either or situation. Tielemans though seems to have adapted so much better. Let's see how Ndombele gets along though. But I would rather have had both players.
