I think a keeper is going to be a essential buy asap
I believe lloris will want out as soon as he is fit due to poch going.
Haven't got a clue who we would or could get but Jose has had a good habit of buying great keepers.

Nubel from Schalke is available to negotiate with other teams for a free transfer in January and the Lille GK is highly rated and we just took their GK coach.

Really like the idea of Nubel so we could use those funds to cover other areas.

I know it's been said by myself and many others plenty before, but January's key target has to be Youcef Atal, even if that's all we can afford bring in. We're in need a player of his caliber at RB but I also think we've got to make it a priority to sign him before another club does. I honestly think he'll establish himself as one of the best fullbacks in the world surrounded by top players at a big club. I haven't seen a young fullback as exciting as him in a long time. If we're going to use one highly defensive fullback (Davies) to stay back and defend and one to maraud down the pitch, Atal is the dream. Not to mention, he can play LB/RW/LW as well (6 goals last season) so Mou could basically play him all across the pitch.

Put a Bayern release clause in for him if he demands it at 65 or 75M.

I saw an aggregator sourcing Kicker that is was 60,000/week. I don't think Schalke can afford wages into the 100,000s.

It's difficult to know what we need when a few players haven't been given the opportunity to show whether they can fix an issue for us.

Right now I feel the fullbacks are the biggest area we can improve, however I wonder whether Foyth can be the answer, whether Sessegnon can be the answer. I think it'd be unfair to say no they're not when they've not had the chance to show what they can do and that'd be my priority from now until January to see whether they and also Dier can do the business.

I'd say my wishlist for Jan is probably in order:

RB - depending on how Foyth does
DM - depending on how Dier does, personally I think we will need somebody better regardless
CB - I saw some clips of Ruben Dias, can see why he's so highly rated and also the Leipzig CB's

Then possibly a LB depending on Sessegnon but i'm really hopeful there, reckon we could do with a 2nd option but could leave that until summer if Sessegnon does well.

Then in the summer I'd be looking at any of those 4 positions if they haven't been filled. along with:

Goalkeeper - I think it's time for Lloris to move on and Kane be made captain and I'd prioritise Lilles keeper Maingan from the clips I've seen
RW - I think we've needed one for about 6 years now.
AM - To replace Eriksen who I'm assuming will leave and I hope that AM is Bruno Fernandes
And of course I'd still love Dybala as a forward option.

A bullet dodged, especially since they wanted £40m the previous season.

The Schalke keeper is an interesting one, I wonder if we will wait for the Summer or do a Holtby and make our move in Jan for a significantly reduced fee.

Nubel- excellent shot stopper, very good with his feet and off his line very quick ala a prime Lloris, sign him up in Jan and integrate him next season... goalkeeper sorted for the next 10 years.

I know it's harder to do business in Jan because teams don't want to lose players mid-season, and prices are normally inflated.

But getting them in now would give them an extra 6 months to acclimatize to the team, and less of an overhaul would be required in the summer.

I worry if we leave everything until the summer there will be too much to do and the team won't be ticking at the beginning of the season.

In summary, stump up the cash in January if we can.

I’m not so sure- I think Lloris will be less error prone if he’s not having to play out the back all the time. It’s probably less of a priority than the other positions, but maybe one for the midterm transfer planning

Think more that the injury may do for him given his age.

I've watched a fair bit of footage of Soumare since he was mentioned on here.

For me hes not the defensive shield we're looking for, more in the mould of Ndombele.

Just my opinion on what I have seen, very good player though.

We need another wide forward, yes. BUT we don't need a right footed one. We already have Son for that position, and Lucas. We need a left-footed one like Salah, Mahrez, Bale, B. Silva, Sane, Ziyech etc.

Son can't play on the right, at least he would be played out of position, and we've seen how that turned out in the past, for him and other players.

I don't know if Mourinho is going to try to replicate previous systems. He says he has a new style. If he is going to revert to type we already have the 1x defensive/1x attacking fullback stup with Foyth and Sessegnon. It's very close to what he had with Ivanovich and Ashley Cole.

Didnt know Nubel was out of contract in the summer. If we could replace a key position with a free transfer it would be fantastic due to us still playing catchup on not regenerating the squad. Savings funds by sorting a position for free would greatly assist that.
