robertson and maguire played for hull when they relegated. aarons, lewis and godfrey are linked to big moves. overall poor performance of a team does not necessarily apply to individuals imo

Yeah, totally get that. In no way did I state that because Bournemouth’s defense is bad, Lerma is also bad and would not be a good purchase. I was simply pointing out Lerma has not had a major impact on their defense as it was claimed.

I don’t think he’s a bad player, he’s a dipshit/dirty player but does get around the pitch and there can be value in that type of personality in a side . I personally don’t think he’s anything special, but he’s most definitely not a defensively transformative player. There’s really few players out there that can do that from midfield.

You know normally I'd prefer someone better on the ball.. But I'm thinking who would suit the Mourinho system.. Bournemouth defensive record has improved since he's been there.. Eddie Howe is just a really bad coach defensively.. We know how good Jose is in that regard & I'm thinking who's affordable & won't need a season to get used to PL.. If money was no problem I wouldn't mention him

He has made difference.. Watch them he gets about the pitch & is a nasty fucker...I really like Ndidi but after him Lerma is best in that role in PL.. It's a drop off mind you.. Ndidi is excellent.. I wanted us to sign him 2 seasons ago.. I'm thinking affordable who would let Ndombele & Lo Celso play & be that nasty fucker who nobody wants to play against & frees them up..

He’s nasty as he’s sparking reactions due to awful tackles. I’d prefer someone that wins the ball without wrecking the opposition player whilst doing it. N’didi isn’t a “nasty” player, nor is Kante. Our issue is that we need someone who can sit deep and defend positionally. Not someone who can just tackle. That’s what sets Kante and Ndidi apart from the rest.

Lerma would be a huge no for me. What else would he offer other than being able to tackle? Football has progressed from requiring just a defensive mid. There’s very few of them and teams demand players that are dynamic and can provide a range of roles in a team. Wasn’t too long ago Dier was hounded for playing in midfield as he could only tackle.

I still think Juan Foyth has all the raw ingredients to make a very good DM with the right coaching. He's very good on the ball and really just needs to concentrate on eliminating the mistakes and subsequent rash decisions.

Now I’ve put a little distance between myself and football, I’ve had a good think about Gedson Fernandez, and while I’ve not seen a lot of him, I’m not especially bothered either. He strikes me as one of these underwhelming loan signings that doesn’t make a whole lot of sense from a footballing perspective. He not especially quick or physical, doesn’t seem much of a technician either. The best I can say about him is he might have an engine on him and can cover a lot of ground but that’s about it

Maybe, but he has the body of a High School Musical extra, one of the slighter girls

I bought FIFA 20 during quarantine and can confirm he’s pretty good in the game.

Give him time please. 12 months ago many were raving about him. He is ‘tekkers’ as they say. Think we will be pleasantly surprised. The only issue I have with him, is he needs to work on his shooting more.

I'm very undecided on him too from what I've seen and he does look a little lightweight with no standout traits, BUT, for different reasons I was undecided on Lo Celso initially before he blossomed. Have to give him a chance to have more minutes under his belt and play when he's feeling more settled and confident as we may see a different player.

It’s weird because I think Gedson could really be something special. He might end up being a “jack-of-all-trades/Master of none type” but in the end it’d be replacing Sissoko essentially. But, he could be something more than that which is where the intrigue comes in. From the little we know about him, he does look a little more adept in the final third than Sissoko, too (granted, not saying much here).

Didn't know where else to put this

Chelsea believe they have moved ahead of Tottenham in their attempts to sign 16-year-old Dutch midfielder Lamare Bogarde, who plays for Feyenoord.(Football Insider)

He's good on the ball.. I like him.. However I don't think he's what our midfield needs, Hjolberg switches off defensively to many times for my liking, loses midfield runners.. I think we need a real athletic player in cm with a bit of nasty about him (have no bother kicking someone if it breaks up play) for a Mourinho team I'd rather Jefferson Lerma Bournemouth he's a dirty fucker an absolute **** to play against but you'd want him on your team than against..

don’t get me wrong I hope we can do better in exactly the mould of the DM you describe.

this would provide a screen behind GLC and TND

Winks, Gedson and Sissy off the bench

Whos the ideal signing?

Think PEH coming in would spell the end for Tanguy which I’d be gutted about

Wouldn't mind a punt on Ibrahim Sangare DM (Toulouse)

They have just been relegated, and he only has one year left on his contract. Bargain perhaps. o_O

Still a bit raw, but certainly seems to have enough about him. 6' 3" tall, athletic, with the ability to pass, dribble and retain possession.

Everton, Newcastle and Le Arse previously linked supposedly.

Few snippets for those interested.

Heading makes me chuckle, but worth a read. ;)
