For me the key pieces to the puzzle in terms of first team signings are:

DM, CD, RB and LB.

There's an argument to be made for a back-up striker too, but this can probably be best solved with a loan (ala Llorente).

We have a real strong first team and squad of attacking players and a decent midfield squad, with the obvious need for a strong DM.

But our defence is weak and only getting weaker as time goes on, i'm not sure a single one of our current back 4 would make it into any top 4 club right now.

The trouble is i can't see us signing 4 first team players for those positions, with or without a new DOF.

hi all not been on here for a while loads of personal stuff in the last year but finally settled down now hahahaha

keeper needed someone as back up must be English so for me joe hart on a free would be ideal.
defence RB defo need two and Aarons and munier probably the two most logical. CB verts gone Foyth out not good enough leave Toby Sanchez tanganga dier and one in ideal Dias from Benfica Lb sessegnon davies rose out

midfield I would go for van de beek get rid of moura loan skipp
up top a decent striker for competition for Kane is needed not back up fraser looks a good on a free then splash the cash on getting Dybala which gives some nice options

I shall wake up soon

For right back the one that makes sense is signing Ferguson on a free and not Meunier to be fair. Less wages and higher ceiling.
I think the clubs will use KWP as makeweight in a deal for the Saints' skipper.
Perhaps a centre back ?! But I wouldn't have thought much more than that to be fair - would anyone else ?

At right back I think Serginho Dest and Thomas Meunier would be about as good as we can hope for. I think that’d be a significant upgrade on the position immediately and prep for the future. And if we can offload Aurier and KWP, we might have some additional funds to put elsewhere.

Dest? First time i’ve heard his name. Is he linked to us? Levy does seem to like the American market so i wouldnt put it past him to try and go for Dest.

Although if he really wants to try for a potential goldmine in the American market, Reyna would be the one to go for.

There was a link to Dest recently. No idea how reliable but I’m sure if it wasn’t, someone will pipe in and say so.

I would love Reyna, too. But, highly doubt they let him go.

Someone mentioned Teun Koopmeiners earlier. I had never heard of the man. After a bit of research it turns out he is a DM and has a peach of a left foot. Long passing from the back like Toby.
Would not be against him for the money that's being bandied about (15 - 20 million euros)

It's me who keeps bringing him up, I think he's class. Captain the AZ side that was level with Ajax on points this season. The papers have him valued at around 12m.

I think he would be perfect in a 4-3-3 alongside Ndombele and Lo Celso.

Here's a brief look at his abilities

Always difficult to tell whether he would keep up with the pace of the Premier League. But for 12m quid, he's certainly worth the gamble. I'd be more than happy to take an older veteran on a free and this guy for the long term.

I really like. He seems like a Spurs player to me. Little bit of Dembele in him to, with dead ball ability.

Didn't really get much idea of his defensive abilities from that and that's what we really need - somebody who can read the game well and organise the others around him. Having said that, the price looks tempting and I expect that's the kind of price range Levy will be happier with. Don't think we'll be spending much at all. Oh how I've missed football YT compilations with shitty music though!

He's got a great relationship with Calvin Stengs from that video, can see he trusts him a lot.

I feel we need more tenacity and of course quality. The AZ players does not look better than Winks in terms of quality on the ball. Winks looks the better athlete also

Souness in the Times today has picked a player from each PL club who has the scope to improve. 2 gettable players mentioned. Ake from Bournemouth and also Solly March from Brighton.

I’m not sure Ake is physical enough. We need a big strong no-nonsense guy back there.
