No wonder Parrott has got distracted with off the field stuff. The lad hardly ever gets to play any football. He’s played about five matches all season. How’s he supposed to get that fire and hunger. Not too mention we’re desperate for a striker and he doesn’t even get a look in. I’d be disheartened if I were him too.

He's supposed to be a professional! I understand that he's only 18 years old, but he gets paid a lot of money for his age because his employer sees value and the POTENTIAL that he has. He needs to focus on his professional goals, forget the hype, and build the career he wants. Right now he has proven nothing to any of us fans other than he has potential, and likes the high-life. The fire and hunger should be what has got him to this point in his career, the fire and hunger should be what makes him listen to reason, his coaches, his family, and his mentor(s), the fire and hunger should be what drives him to fulfill his potential, the fire and hunger should be what stops him from partying, the fire and hunger should be what drives him to do all he can to cement a place in the first team just like HK and Tanganga did. The fire and hunger has zero to do with the amount of playing time he gets, he has to earn that playing time!

Do we need him NOW, hell yeah we do, but what would be the cost to him, and the club, if he continues his partying lifestyle? I have to believe that the professionals that are charged with developing him know what they're doing, and are very aware of what us fans say and how we feel. I'd rather have a young player that cares about his career, and is prepared to do whatever needs to be done to achieve his career goals, than a young player that thinks he's made it already and just wants to party. Once upon a time they were called apprentices, they had that label for a reason.

I want to see him play, I want him to step up and help us right now, but I also want him to be focused on his career so we get the best of him, not the leftovers.

And yet he was immense at every youth level. There's an undeniable trend of several of our most promising young players stagnating on Poch's watch.
Think thats football, under any manager youngsters have shown great promise and unable to make the step up to senior football.

Bit of background. This is the guy whose son Dele and Troy were happily Instagramming with in Dubai. And if it's a bad look for a teenager from Dublin, it's even worse from Dele.

https://www.irishtimes.com/news/cri...isty-kinahan-s-lieutenant-in-dublin-1.3840634

“The Byrne organised crime group originated in Dublin but now has interests in Spain, the Netherlands, South America and Dubai, ” an unpublished ruling of the High Court states. “It was previously led and directed by Christopher Kinahan snr, an Irish citizen who left Ireland to live in Spain and direct the operations of the group from that jurisdiction. It would appear that Mr Kinahan is now resident in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, and that the day-to-day operations of his drug trafficking are managed and controlled by his sons, Christopher jnr and Daniel Kinahan.”

You can say “be professional, yadda, yadda, yadda,” but the truth is unless he sees a pathway then it’s human nature to get disenchanted. The lad wants to be scoring goals but he doesn’t seem to be allowed to play any matches. I don’t understand it. If he’s not ready, get him playing U23s every week and then out on loan next season.

The pathway is right in front of him but if he's not doing what his employer expects of him, or he's not willing to do what is expected of a professional, then that pathway has a finite end, if he can't see that then his career will not be at the highest level, regardless of his potential. If he is behaving in a manner that is contrary to what the club expects then he will not get game time with the under 23's, first team, or a loan team.

I don’t know what behaviour he’s been accused of apart from being friends with someone whose family is involved in crime. My point still stands, though? Why is he not playing any football at all. Players aren’t automatons who cbs turn up every day and be excited, they need things to get exited about - matches, competition.

Hanging out with the son of a drug lord is enough to question his attitude, and I believe that is what's stopping him getting game time. Do I know this for a fact, of course not, but the REPORTS suggest it is. I wish he was playing every week but he isn't, and I think there is a reason why. But I do believe that a professional attitude dictates your forward path. I guess we have to agree to disagree.

Only Spurs could suffer a loss in squad options caused by a fucking winter break. Of course it's the case that we desperately need our most promising academy player due to an injury crisis but can't actually call on him because he's being secretly disciplined after partying with known mobsters in Dubai during the Premier League's first ever mid-season break in the action. Fucking incredible the luck this club has.

Jose needs to get this lad integrated as soon as the disciplinary period is ended. Look at Greenwood - 18 years old and delivering.
Let's get Troy into the mix.

Well it would have to be serious disciplinary for him not to be included in a match day squad that consists of zero centre forwards

It's much more likely to be the 'dick in the eye' thing that was on twitter (which is some pretty major bullying behaviour right that would be massively frowned upon) than being snapped on holiday with the son of an organised crime figure.

Unbelievable really. Given how much these people earn. Can you imagine this happening in any other industry.

I don’t remember Kane acting like this. He should follow his example and listen to his advice.

Alli is not the best example to follow at this point of his career.

Spurs also need to ensure that the other fella is not let anywhere near any Spurs owned property and Spurs events.

Imo this is an easier problem to solve than Edwards. My take on it is Parrott is a bit of a street kid and has grown up in quite a tough area and maybe fallen in with the wrong people. It’s given him a bit of an edge like Dele which is why maybe they get on, and long term it won’t be bad thing. We saw it in the Arsenal youth game when he got sent off. So if you can take that inner street kid with his obvious talent you could have a real player. I think Edwards was almost the opposite. He was more ill discipline from having a not committed enough character, being late not showing enough application etc.

Personally I was thinking the opposite. Complimentary drugs for ST holders at games is the least they could do.

The dick in the eye and the dubai thing is more than enough to make one seriously question his maturity and motivation.

Ironically enough, the academy had a visit from Terry Dixon recently...
If ever there was a lesson of maturity and behaviour getting in the way all the talent in the world; then Dixon was that.
