Izzy is a great fighter, what a performance. Looking forward to him v paulo costa next. Izzy will win that to. Cant see any stand up fighter beating him in that division.

No, I think Israel is going to be the Champion for a good while yet (but I remember saying the same thing about Ronda Rousey before she met up with Holly Holm).

But isn't that the great thing about the UFC? Nobody is unbeatable.

Izzy is nuts. Costa looks like he is on borrowed time depending how good his chemist is.

Hadn't seen this before and while I know it's not UFC, it's the closest thread I could find to post it in.

As one of the comments says, he didn't tap for the pain, he tapped for the shame.

Nate diaz drama unfolding. Apparently failed a drugs test but the fight isnt off yet. His tweet made it sound like the ufc wanted to keep it quiet and deal with it after the fight.

Please God no. I've always loved Nate's fighting and his warrior spirit. If he's been stupid with stimulants then he's a twat because he doesn't need to do any of that shit.

Jairzinho Rozenstruik is an absolute beast. Arlovski hasn't got the strongest chin but he got rocked by a jab even before that short left put him to sleep.

Very impressed with Edwin Sharbazyan as well. Brad Tavares is tough (he took Israel Adesanya to a 5 round decision in his last fight) and he got smoked by Edwin half way through the 1st round.

When Kevin Lee nearly kicked Gillespie's face off knocking him stone cold on impact, I jumped out of my chair. Awesome finish.

A darn shame the Masvidal v Diaz fight got stopped between the third and fourth, but listening to Dana after he'd been in Nate's dressing room afterwards, he said Diaz's right eyebrow was on the verge of falling down over his eye, so he could understand why the doctor stopped it, but like the rest of us, he was very disappointed. Diaz wanted to continue the fight because that's what he is, a true warrior but I wonder if the scar tissue surrounding his eyes from so many fights down the years might help him come to the decision to call it a day now. I mean, every time he fights now, he's going to be covered in blood and scar tissue, not that it bothers him but it might mean his opponents almost have an advantage before the the ref says 'Lets FIGHT...'

Masvidal is an absolute monster. What an awesome fighter he really is.

I remember watching Masvidal a few years back up until this point and wondered how he was being considered the BMF of the UFC, despite having a couple of recent good wins but I had no idea of his background and fighting history. The guy's fearless.

When he kicked him in the face I thought it was over the guy is a warrior. I imagine him being to stubborn to quit and possibly in a couple more years may eventually be forced to stop fighting rather than choosing to. When I was watching the fight I thought what a poor stoppage but on seeing the stitches he got it looked like a good call. Diaz V Masvidal 2 will be another war. Not a chance they give McGregor a shot a Masvidal he would be murdered. UFC in korea coming up soon not to curse it but I am expecting some wars on that card, Korean fighters love to brawl. Below is Diaz's eye.

Jesus, can you imagine what he looked like before the stitches went in (and presumably when Dana visited him in his dressing room...)

Like I said, Nate is an absolute beast and a true warrior, but I just wonder if all that scar tissue round his eyes might be a factor in him calling it a day.

Was UFC Fight Night 164 Sao Paulo the worst card ever? I can't remember watching a duller evening of MMA. It wasn't just the lack of star names - there have been great cards before with far less well known fighters - or even the paucity of finishes, but rather a lack of the clever matchmaking that is usually one of the strengths of the UFC. Styles make fights and too many of these suffered from sheer predictability.

Don't like the fact McGregor is coming back to fight cerrone. I hope they don't give him a title shot if he wins
