South American media. Hardly fall proof sources more linking it bk to the itk we had on young argies

I cant tell if youre being serious or not in all honesty. If im not mistaken his pass accuracy is about mid 80s percentage wise (most of those are backwards or sideways). Hes scored what is it two goals for us in the past two seasons? Not to mention a shot accuracy of about 40 % or so. Hes not exactly that young either so the chances of him ever recovering from his knee injury are low (see Ledley King for a guide on knee injuries and their effects on footballers careers). Also in saying you can't remember who Tim Sherwood is i reiterate that i dont know whether to take you seriously or not. And if bringing joy to Spurs supporters qualifies being in the first team i suggest we promote chirpy.

If we're talking about Schniederlin then we're also talkng about Sandro as what's the point about bringing in Schniederlin if we have Capoue & Sandro?

The sport is more than statistics. It's about the will to win. It's about character. Sandro has these in abundance.

Spurs have a tough go of making top four this season. Tottenham Hotspur needs it's heroes. Sandro is one!

Spurs should hang on to those that give us fans hope and joy. Passion counts for much. Sandro gives us that.

Referring to itk we had a little while ago on a young Argentinian, we're now being linked with river plate manuel lanzini. Could this be 2+2=4?...

Lanzini will most def be sold this window, and for 6/7m imo.
He's one of Lamela's best friends and a AM that likes to cut in from the left (something like Hazard in style). His potential is huge, but he's been very inconsistent this past years. He will have to bulk up, but imo he would be a very very good signing.

don't know why some fans get so uppity about player loyalty. a player wanting to leave one club for a better one is no different to a fan wanting one player out with a better one replacing them.

Or someone wanting to leave their current employer to go and work for a bigger company, in better conditions and for more pay.

Sandro's passion didn't help us get into the top 4 or play attractive football the last few years. I like Sandro too and would like to keep him, but he offers little offensively and is now a potential liability injury-wise. If we have to sell Sandro to bring in players like Schneiderlin, then we should. Schneiderlin imo has passion and a drive to succeed. He is good defensively, though maybe not an absolute beast like Sandro, and he is a much better passer of the ball than Sandro.

Unfortunately what you say is true. I think some of us need to bring our expectations down a bit.

Ever since the stadium has been seriously on the cards and not just a pipe dream, we have either made a profit or broke even in the transfer market. We cannot and will not compete with the top 4 with those numbers.

............What many fans fail to realize is that he offers very little in an attacking sense. His distribution after winning possession is often poor with his passes misplaced. He is also guilty of spending too much time on the ball limiting his options to move forward. If you actually pay attention to the attacking aspect of his game you also notice that when he does move forward he does so with a disregard of positioning which often puts him in a difficult position when possession is lost....

Alright, I've heard enough of this hyperbole. Time to step in (albeit briefly, so as not to hijack this thread).

This "Sandro offers little in attacking sense and is a poor passer" nonsense needs to cease and desist.
I'll make this nice and to the point...I just ran a statistical Comparison Matrix (courtesy of Squawka) between all of our primary CMs (not just the holding mids) -->> Dembele, Paulinho, Capoue, and Sandro.
I also threw Schneiderlin into the mix just for giggles, and here is the kicker:

Of the aforesaid five midfielders (broken down by a 90-minute metric for the 2013-14 Season), Sandro has a better attack rating than Capoue and Schneiderlin both (in fact Sandro's attack score of 12.03 is more than twice as high as Scheniderlin's - 5.98, and significantly higher than Capoue's - 7.02).
Attack-wise Sandro is surpassed only by Paulinho (who's more of a box to box player) at 17.68, and Dembele (who's more of natural CAM, as opposed to a DM) at 16.31. So in essence his attack score is closer to that of the attacking mids than the holding mids.

He's also third in the key passes (per 90 minutes) metric only to Dembele and Schneiderlin at 0.76, surpassing both Capoue and Paulinho (whose totals are 0.39 and 0.72 key passes per 90 min. respectively).

Furthermore, Sandro's total forward passes (per 90 minutes) of 35.22 is only surpassed by Scheiderlin (39.68), and Sandro is also tied for 3rd place with an 84% pass completion (with Paulinho and Capoue).

Finally (even though this is a defensive metric) Sandro is 1st in blocks, and 2nd in interceptions AND clearances only to Capoue (per 90 minutes of play) out of those five players.

All of this upon return from a devastating knee injury! I'd say that's not too shabby. Wouldn't you?

Dembele is the one that interests me most under Poch as he has a whole bunch of positions he could potential get slotted in, but he also could potentially be not a fit for Poch at all.

That's all well and good, but what assurance do we have he'll get better? Degrading hip ligament injuries are not the kind to simply heal without a very prolonged rest.
