That's mostly down to Norwich's open expansive play. They also have very little in terms of covering that defence.

All these players have qualities that would suit a different style and would benefit from defensive coaching.
We’ve not got much covering our defence mind you???

I think he should be very high on our priority list. I'd much rather sign him than either Jamal Lewis or Aaarons (who has already been at Spurs, though we didn't sign him.) Aaorons is very talented, but with his size it's such a gamble. Lewis is good, but I don't think he has massive potential. He's no Robertson.

Castagne just makes so much sense. He looks very physically suitable, is technically good and can cover both sides. He just seems like an ideal signing.

Castagne and Aarons would be fine additions at the expense of losing Aurier or even Davies. The fact that we have expectations of Cirkin and Sessegnon providing competition at LB in the next few years means that Castagne could cover LB until one of them is ready.

Castagne, Aarons, Tanganga and Davies/Sessegnon is a decent fullback group. Selling KWP and Aurier and getting that kind of depth/upside would be pretty savvy.

I think Hotspur Related is just a bit late picking up this report from a few days back. Nothing out of the ordinary, just mentions Castagne will assess his options and talk to Tuchel, Rodgers and Mourinho once the season is over (6 league games remaining and the CL QF against PSG)

Given how well KWP is playing, may be we will keep him

I also was wondering if we are getting closer and closer to it being a potential straight swap for PEH. I think today will be another big test for him and if he comes out looking near as good as he did against City, it’ll be a bit of a conundrum for us (and a good one at that). But, KWP is Home Grown, a little younger than PEH, plays obviously in a position of need for Soton as Valery has not progressed and he has a contract until 2023.

He’s had a couple of decent games nothing more. Cameron Carter-Vickers is in the form of his life for Luton but he’s another that simply isn’t good enough.

We should be looking to bring in either a new RB and LB or a RB and Castagne as he can play both positions.

A full back pool of Aarons? Castagne, Davies, Sessegnon and Tanganga will be much better in terms of both quality and versatility than we have now.

Really hope we're able to bring in both Aarons and Castagne. That'd give us an added injection of quality and Castagne's flexibility would allow us to loan out Sessegnon, which he needs.

That's exactly what I want ... Castagne, Tanganga both can play as right back and left back , Davies pure LB, Aarons pure RB, and sent Sessegnon to loan for one season... After the end season, Lets evaluate where we are ... We can easily shift Tanganga as a CB and let Sess fight with Davies ...

Could be a good one that. Davies has the reach/weight advantage, Sessegnon is lighter on his feet/more athletic.

which is why we won't sign him.
I don’t get the point of posts like this.
is it a “told you so” in advance?
Or is it a “don’t get your hopes up” kind of comment.
Because if there’s one clear aspect about supporting Spurs (at least in my lifetime), it’s exactly the opposite- that’s all spurs have offered- Building my hopes up!

Would be great to have an option like Castagne who can cover both sides. I haven't seen enough of him (by a country mile) to know if he's good enough though. KWP was said to be able to play both sides but he didn't seem at all comfortable on the left.

I don't think i've ever seen Aarons have a really good game. I still don't understand everyone banging on about him, so distinctly average or below par. Zero upgrade on KWP, pointless waste of transfer funds for me.
