Real Madrid pot 2?
This was the first year in a while they didn't win it. Harsh.

And Chelsea pot 1 when they will struggle to even qualify for the competition this year.

Give me a group of death. Everyone will want to avoid us.

Absolutely daft Europa League winners go into pot 1......surely just being put into the CL is the reward, then handed a top seed just because?

Last two years group of death we qualified. Even the year under Redknapp was a tough group and we smashed it. Bring on whoever it is. Personally feel if it was an 'easy' group then we'd take our eye off it and think we can smash it but don't.

Pot 1 is domestic league winners and previous years CL and EL winners

from BBC

Teams are split into four pots - the top one containing the two Uefa competition winners, Liverpool and Chelsea, as well as the champions of the six highest-ranked nations which are Manchester City, Barcelona, Juventus, Bayern Munich, Paris St-Germain and Zenit St Petersburg.
The remaining teams will be split into pots two to four by order of the club coefficient rankings.
No team can play a club from their own association meaning last season's runners-up Tottenham will not be drawn against one of the other English sides.

What are the pots?

Pot one:
Liverpool, Chelsea, Barcelona, Manchester City, Juventus, Bayern Munich, Paris St-Germain, Zenit St Petersburg
Pot two:
Real Madrid, Atletico Madrid, Borussia Dortmund, Napoli, Shakhtar Donetsk, Tottenham, Ajax, Benfica
Pot three:
Lyon, Bayer Leverkusen, Salzburg, Olympiakos, Club Bruges, Valencia, Inter Milan, Dinamo Zagreb
Pot four:
Lokomotiv Moscow, Genk, Galatasaray, RB Leipzig, Slavia Prague, Red Star Belgrade, Atalanta, Lille

My prediction. Juve, Leverkusen and Galatasaray.

I want Bayern though. A giant we've never faced.

Apart from the 4 European games we have played against them obviously, including beating them on the way to winning in the UEFA Cup in 1984

We're Champions League regulars now so the novelty of wanting to see us play some of the big sides in the group stages has worn off for me. Easiest route through to the next round please.

I was at a game back in '83 and I'm sure we beat Bayern then......it might have been one of my drug induced fantasies so don't hold me to it!

I was talking about Champions League era, not "during the war" (in my best Uncle Albert impression)!
