Tottenham are set to make a fresh bid for Milan forward Krzysztof Piatek as Jose Mourinho chases a striker signing before Friday’s transfer deadline.

I wasn't keen on the latter part of the article, if true then he may not be for us.

Ah sure. He's a striker. Full of ambition, good finisher. If he can accept the pressure he'll be under and still give it an honest go I'll settle for that. He can work on improving afterwards once he starts of with the right attitude now. If he was already the finished article then we couldn't afford or ever get him in January.

Reckon it could go down as an astute signing. Wont expect to play every game. Seems to fit in with how Jose wants to play as per @Hercules post earlier.

I think it will be his link up play and ability to hold up the ball with a physical presence that Jose wants.

The goals will be secondary as Son, Dele and Lucas will bomb on.

I do think peoples desperation for a striker means they want whoever - that is my view. I think Piatek is ok nothing more. He may get better i dont know, Im only going on the basis of what I have seen in the past.

Id take him on loan for sure and suspect thats what we want but doubt it will go that way.

Id rather just wait or even get a Llorente for the next few months. All we need is a focal point for now.

It probably finally clicked that we are not going to get top 4 without signings.

I think we were always gonna make signings, also signings wont guarantee top 4 as when they come from outside the prem they almost always need time to get used to this league.

Didn't think link up, hold up and physical presence were his strong points. I thought he was primarily a goal grabber with a decent work ethic but not much else. Could be wrong though.

Same me guv. Much has been said (by other members of SC) of his 'hold up play etc' but in a strikers position, surely, his performance is measured on the number of goals scored, no? The word 'striker' is used for a reason!
