No excuses, we have to win this one. Let's not help them with silly penalties or red cards, just play a good solid game and we win it comfortably.

Win today and we go 9 points clear of chelsea which is massive at this stage of the season. Alos a win would turn an ok start to a very good start to the season IMO. 20 points from 11 games is very good
Mind the gap

I would argue 20 points from 11 games is decent/good. Not great though.

To be a top 4 team we need to be getting 2 points a game on average over the course of the season. So far we are below that target and a win would get us close but we will need to step it up in the 2nd quarter of the season slightly. Then again, this season top 4 form will put you top. In perspective after week 10, Southampton start last season would have put them level with Man City and above Arsenal .

If we win tonight we'll be on a trajectory of 69 points (rounding to the nearest whole number). Over the last 10 years the average points total required for 4th place is 71 (again rounding to the nearest whole number). In that time 69 points would have been enough to get you 4th in four seasons - with 79 points being the highest total and 67 points being the lowest. It's going to be incredibly tough this season, but considering we've had our fair share of injury problems and lost silly points in matches we clearly should have won (Stoke, Everton, Swansea, Liverpool), I honestly believe we have a great chance this season.

Then again we could bottle it come March. Who knows?

I miss the mad starts we used to make when we'd be 2 or 3 up after 20 mins..happened quite a few times in the Jol era
Haha problem was the opposite wasn't exactly rare either... I like where we are now. Loving the solidity of this team

3-0 for me. Villa are dire and we're no pushover any more. Excited for this one!

Well he was so bad and so expensive that we were all behind him and a bit sad.

I remember his first game with us, a friendly vs espanyol in which he scored a pen, he looked so nervous, he could hardly run and already had lost his smile. It was a sight of things to come.

Disappointed that he isn't officially in charge until after the game. Was looking forward to Sky's Garde Cam.
They've just announced it...first 'official' game is vs citeh.

Why must they give him an easy game! ;) if they wanted a guaranteed 3 points, they could have waited to play Chelsea!

Roberto Soldado @R9Soldado
Is Monday? Don't worry! Today play my english team. Good luck @SpursOfficial COYS

I'm not calling him a success with us, but I still think that anyone who didn't hold a little affection for Bobby was/is fucking weird.

No affection here - i rarely feel affection for anyone, let alone grown men who i have never met before in my life - so i dont think its that weird :)

Just checking - have you met Eric or are you an emotionless father who doesn't care about your adopted child?
