No need really. Rest him against Coventry and then he won't play for nearly 2 weeks. Plenty of rest.

We could be cruel and play him against them, just so they give up all hope of wanting to get promoted for any reason, just to save themselves from having to play him again in the future

Interesting that Sigurdsson starts over Dempsey on the left and with Nuaghton at full back, it may make the left hand side more narrow than we'd like but we may see Lennon switch over there periodically to keep Reading's full backs on their toes.

Glad in a way that Verts slots back to CB although I would have paired Gallas with him over Dawson and Walker can count himself lucky he hasn't been dropped yet so he needs to get his act together.

Would have plumped for Parker over Sandro personally, although I dare say the wholesale changes will be in the Cup game and we should be controlling this game for large parts of the match.

Hopefully this is a game where Adebayor can make his mark and get on the goal sheet and I certainly expect Defoe to notch at least one today - this game is his forte!

I agree. Much rather we have a spot to Pritchard or Coulthirst or Someone like that. That was the point about extending to 7 subs.

I guess the thinking is we will have all the possession and they will try to win it from set pieces and Dawson is more suited to winning the ball in the air than Caulker.

Hey Shogun, happy new year mate. I'm not knocking Daws in the air, as he is decent, but I really think Caulker is equally decent. He certainly gets himself about in the box, from what I've seen, when we've had set pieces. Anyhoo, a nice decision for AVB to have to make.
