LOL! I am not that chilled out, but I do have bigger fish to fry than stressing too much about our squad at this point!

I am more worried about LB than a CB because bloody hell, if i have to stand that current little fekker as our 1st choice another season i might just go mad!
Info in ITK thread is interesting. Might save your sanity, well, for the time being... ;)

Well you're pretty chilled out about all this aren't you. Fair enough, but I'm not, especially as everyone else is out there improving their squads. I bet you we are still sat around like c*nts waiting for us to sign someone on the last day of the transfer window!
It's much easier to sign your targets when you have CL and more money. And the said player wants to join you because of the above.

I dont agree we punched above our weight when teams around us underperform. Example, last season Everton didnt punch above their weight, we underperformed and all the others argueably should finish above us unless they underperform.

Don't agree actually. We held off Man City for a CL place when they had spent a fortune. We kept Chelsea out of the top 4. We finished 1 point behind Arsenal. That, to me, is punching above our weight. Everton, in spite of under-investment have come on in leaps and bounds under Martinez. If you expect everybody to maximise their potential all of the time there would be no such thing as sport, or bookies for that matter. (You may notice that I disagreed with you without giving you a neg rep as well).

His attitude was so poor last season that I feel he put a lot of top teams off

We would like to think other clubs had been put off by Vertonghen's very poor attitude last season but the reality is that there is no loyalty code of conduct morals left in football....look at Sauraz going to Barcelona before that Liverpool's feeble attempt to protect her assets post P Evra ( shocking)

I mean I don't want to be patronising or anything - but this is JUST football at the end of the day. THFC are not out there trying to find a cure for cancer (CFC), just a CF, CH and a LB (apparently). You need to chill the F... out about all this or you'll get an ulcer. Those things are painful you know.

That could well be my favourite quote so far this year on here. :D

We punched above our weight for a few seasons which has raised expectations. In reality, the playing field won't be level until we have our shiny new stadium. Just hoping we don't fall too far off the pace in the meantime.

...yeah, because Arsenal really struggled before they moved from their smaller stadium.

We WILL entertain offers for Vertonghen and any of our other players if the price is right.

The stadium is no longer the deal breaker it used to be. The club is far behind the top clubs on lots of other potential revenue streams. These gaps need to be bridged ASAP.

What do you disagree with David?

So when the offer from Barca comes in there will be CATEGORICALLY NO.

Juggling.
Impersonations.
Jokes.
Sing songs.
That offer will remain unentertained *

*until it's accepted...

I don't expect everyone to maximise their potential and I hope some of the boys with bigger wagebills/stadiums/talents underperform regularly. When we were managed by Ramos I don't believe the teams above us were punching above their weight.
And about the neg rep, feel free to vote as you wish. I don't attach any importance to that lot at all.

I think we let Vertonghen down since he agreed to come. We sold all our world class players and we've sacked 3 managers (Harry wanted him)

He also was forced to left back last season because of a failure to get suitable cover for the position.

I'm not surprised he's decided that the club can't match his ambitions.

No offence intended, but I'll 'chill the F... out about all this' after you eat my shit.
