As there's a fair bit of this going on in other threads I thought I'd make this thread so people can get it off their chest.

Rules!
  • List your 3 buys.
  • List your 3 sells.
  • You can justify your choices in your post.
  • You can rate people's posts to like/dislike their choices
  • No discussion of other people's choices, any discussion on ANY players should go in the player threads.
  • Bonus Rule: If you must, post your new line up so we don't end up with formations going in other threads :p
You can either go with what you want to happen or what you expect to happen and can clarify which you've done if you want.

My wish list:

Buys

Bale
- We need winners. We need to show ambition if we want to keep Kane. I can see this happening.
Reguillon - Probably the hardest position to find quality and he is probably the best available and at a decent price.
Daka - I honestly don't know who. There are so many names foating around and I don't know enough to work out who I'd prefer. If we sign Bale, then I'm less concerned about having a ready-to-go forward and am happier that it's a kid who's mainly potential. Daka would seem to fit that bill but so do many of the others we've been linked with. If we don't get Bale then I'd lean towards Vinicius.

Sells

Aurier
- Complete liability.
Sissoko - This one's problematic because of how"popular" he is but he's just not that good. I'm assuming Ndombele comes good and fills that box to box role.
Lamela - A tough one but given injuries and end product, I think it's time to reluctantly move him on.

To be honest mate, You've absolutely nailed it on the first post. My wishlist is this one. Would be an absolute incredible window if this was how it transpired.

I hope I'm not breaking the no discussion rule though, I figured it easier to just quote the wishlist I want as it's already there.

Buys -

Grealish - I think he's a generational talent. I know a lot of people rate him highly, but I think he's a really special player and this will become more apparent this season. 80 million will seem cheap for him by next summer. He might be much older, but I believe his ceiling is comfortably above the likes of Sancho. I can't imagine many will agree with that, but let's wait and see.

Bale - He scored 9 goals from outside the area in the last season he was with us. There is an amazing correlation between the amount of goals your team scores from distance and success. I don't think he's lost as much pace as many think, but regardless, his shooting ability is still there.

Estupinan - I don't rate Davies that highly. Think he's a good back up, but would rather someone with more pace going forward. Don't think Sess or Cirkin are ready yet.

Sell

Sissoko - He's 31 and it's the last time we'd be able to get any decent money for him.

Aurier - I actually don't think he'd that bad. He'd be a good squad player, but we need money and have players than can cover.

Ali - Controversial one and I like him, but I've got to fund the Grealish purchase. Ali doesn't do enough when not scoring and I think we lack creativity, so if I had to sacrifice him to pay for Grealish, I would.

I will probably disqualify myself, but am submitting two suggestions for each instead of three.

IN:

Bale - Point to prove. Born to play for Spurs. Bring him home. Just do it.
Edouard - Really classy striker - someone who, like Kane, can drop off and create but also a fantastic finisher. Can envision him forming a good partnership with Kane, but also being able to step up and be the main man if the worst happens and Kane leaves one day. Also takes a lovely free-kick, and we lack a decent free-kick taker.

OUT:

Rose - Pretty obvious this one, used to be sensational, but now surplus to requirements on big wages.
Aurier - Although selling him would leave us light, it sounds like he wants out and we need to raise funds for other signings, so laters.

IN;

Diallo. Proper 9. Wants to come here. Happy as back up. Price.
Sabitzer; Versatile. Leader. Duracell Bunny.
Reguillon; We need some quality at LB. Best option available.

All 3 of them would cost us less in wages than Bale after subsidy.

OUT;

Sissoko; Worth nothing soon. Replaced by Sabitzer.
Rose; No longer needed. Repleced by Reguillon.
Lamela; Try to get some dosh in somewhere.

Again, their wages would probably be more than the incoming's.

Bale - obviously, would be amazing.
Edouard - of all the strikers we’ve been linked to he’s the one I have a) seen the most of and b) am most excited by.
Reggulion - looks class, too good to pass up, good option with Davies depending which full back we want to push on.

OUT:

Aurier - don’t think he’s as bad as we all think but time to move him on.
Rose - obviously.
Sess - controversial but if he isn’t going to play I would love him to get a really good loan - the Ajax link would be great for him.

In:
1) Bale - speaks for itself. May have lost some spark but still a game changer. Just a shame he’d make his debut at NWHL in an empty stadium.

2) Edouard/Vinicius/Daka (one of them) - gladly take any of the 3.

3) Singare - good young Sissoko replacement

Out:
1) Rose - he’s gone in 12 months and wages would be useful

2) Serge - Doherty has made him surplus

3) Lamela - love him but his injury history sucks and I reckon we can still get a decent fee from an Italian side.

@Rob pretty much nailed it already, but I'd have Edouard over Daka and Vinicius as the striker.

France has had a production line of quality strikers and everything about him suggests he would be too.

Quick, decent size, technically good, good dribbler, decent vision and a very composed finisher (one thing you can't teach). Plus used to UK conditions. Every chance he could be one of the best around in 2-3 years with those attributes.

Sissoko and Aurier would be definite outs for me too, just hope there would be someone else to buddy up with Ndombele if they did leave as it seems like they do a lot for him.

The only other thing I'd say is personally I would like us to try and sign a DM in the Ndidi mould, as Hojbjerg appears to be more of an aggressive DM than a holding one. That said it seems like Jose is happy with his midfield so thats fair enough for me.

Bale - just for the wow and lols. And perhaps sporadic moments of wonderment.

Grealish - love the lad. Attitude on the pitch, skill, courage, fearless. Hate him for turning his back on Ireland but would forgive him for winning the PL.

Daka - looks so exciting. That is all

Out:
Serge - he wanted to leave previously and is no longer first choice. Time to move on ?

Gazzaniga - let the lad go and be first choice somewhere.

Lamela - cult bloody hero. But cannot see him getting regular minutes in the first team of all fit and we sign others. Thanks for the memories and shithousing.

Bale - Would be a massive statement to get a world class player like Bale. He’s got a point to prove and has bags of experience winning things. Game winner.

Grealish - Another leader in the squad and someone who can make something out of nothing. Unrealistic as above, but would be a great signing if we could pull it off. Game changer.

Vinicius - Seems to be the one Jose wants, we should trust his eye for a player. Know nothing about the guy aside from a YouTube video, but he looks like he’d offer something very different to what we have currently.

OUT

Aurier - Love his attitude and he seems to be a good guy around the squad from the doco, but he’s a liability on the pitch. If we can get some cold hard cash for him then we should sell him.

Lamela - Again, I love the guy, but he sadly can’t be relied upon to be available for games. If we can get him off the wage bill that would help. Would also free up a non hg slot.

Rose - Needs to leave, seems like he’d be a disruptive influence around the squad and he won’t be getting near the team. If we can simply get him off the wage bill that’d be a big plus, getting a fee for him would be a bonus.

Thank you @Rob

Buy

Bale. I know they say never go back, but he’s a pure entertainer, a magician who lights up the darkest moments and makes football worth watching. Still has enough gas in the tank. Ginola, Waddle, Berbatov, Gascoigne, Hoddle. The guys who make it look easy. He’s cut from the same cloth.

Vinícius. Mainly because he appears to be who we’ve been working hardest at, given how long JJ, Trix, Herc have been alluding to that striker who hadn’t been in the press. Suggests to me that he’s been top of our list all along so that makes it especially important that we get him, regardless of the fact that I’d barely heard of him before today,

Edwards. Much as a I love Dele, there’s little to no challenge to him in that number 10 role. Edwards is our own, he’s full of skill and ingenuity, and he’s now got good experience of men’s football. Versatile across the attacking midfield too and could have really long term upshot.

Sell

Lamela. Someone needs to make space for the two left footed AMs I’ve mentioned above and he draws the short straw. Love his attitude, frustrated by him not having ever pushed on as a player and just feel that he’s the odd one out of our senior attackers.

Sissoko. Like Lamela, he’s got a great attitude. He’s just not a player I like watching. I accept that he’s got a place in our squad serving a certain function, but there’s too little intelligence in his play or quality in his use of the ball for him to get meaningful time in our midfield.

Foyth. I just don’t think he’s ever going to play enough in our side to help him iron out his flaws, and I don’t see him as being the right physical make up for a premier league centre back.

Lloris
Hart/ Gazzaniga
Doherty Alderweireld Dier Davies
Aurier Tanganga Sanchez Cirkin Sessegnon
Højbjerg Lo Celso
Winks Gedson Ndombele
Bale Dele Son
Clarke Lucas Edwards Bergwijn
Kane
Vinícius

Also compliant with UEFA registration rules.

Buy:

Bale: If for a reasonable price, just to give us some pure quality and wining mentality

Grealish: Classy player with that creative eye that we need now Eriksen is gone

Dybala: This might be difficult and not a striker Jose would chose. But just like him as a player and we were so close last year.

Sell:

Lamela, with a sad heart, but to many injuries and will need to sell now to get some money for him.

Sissoko: Starting to get old, and more injuries will come, Take some money while we can

Gazzaniga: ok as a nr 2 but would sell and get another homegrown player in as nr 2

yes Rob nice thread but brave haha mine are similar to yours

Ins:
Edouard - i signed him on football manager and he helped us win two trophies in his first season
Bale or Coutiniho - we need a top level quality AM to take our attack to the next level
Digne - Great player and would weaken a rival

Out:
Rose - obvious why
Foyth - not needed in our squad but wish him well
Lamela - too injury prone and not enough end product but also wish him well

Buy:

Bale: Bring him home. Proven winner and a talisman. Get him back, motivated and he can transform us into title contenders

Estupinan: This guy is the real deal, he's going to be a top LB for many years to come. One of the weakest areas in our squad IMO.

Jovic: Loan with an option to buy would be decent, could play alongside Kane or instead of him.

Sell:

Rose: Any word from Milan?

Sessegnon: Get him a loan to a club where he can play every week and develop in an actual role.

Sissoko: He's been decent for a couple of years but always a bit of a weak link. I'd like to see Gedson get some more time at CM this season.
