Can someone confirm I'm understanding the loan rules correctly?

As far as I know we now can't loan another player without sending Gedson back (or making him a permanent signing) as it's 2 loans max at any one time?

Even if we did send him back, we couldn't loan another Madrid player as it's one player per club?

Is that correct?

somebody linked the rules the other day and if I remember correctly, you can have a maximum of 4 loans but you can only register 2 loans in a single window. Because Gedson was last Jan, we're currently only at 1 loan which is Bale.

Ah I read that as 2 loans at any one time, not 2 in a window.

So we just can't loan a RM or Benfica player but we can loan anyone else.

They are:
- Premier League clubs may not register more than two players on loan at any one time.
- The maximum number of loans registrable in the same season is four, and, under no circumstances, shall more than one be from the same club at any one time.
- Premier League clubs cannot loan to another Premier League club a player they have acquired in the same transfer window.
- A Premier League club may loan not more than one of its goalkeepers to another Premier League club.

I think if we wanted we can loan another player from foreign clubs, I seem to remember Udinese lending Watford a couple of players.

Edit that appears to be in the Championship, looks like only 1 per club.

That's what I originally thought.

We can't have Bale, Gedson and X all on loan at the same time.

that's only from PL Clubs. So we will be ok with Bale, Gedson and Ruben Dias for example.

In 18/19 Wolves had Raul Jimenez, Jonny and Dendoncker at loan at the same time

See that was what I was hoping but I literally can't find anywhere which says as such.

SELL

  1. Lamela : 7 seasons been a good servant in trying & putting effort and giving it all. But thats not enough. He is 28 now.
  2. Sessegnon : I will loan him out or sell if we get most of his fee.
  3. Sissoko : Been a great servant, but again we can do better than him. I would have sold Ndombele for 3rd choice, but Jose seems to be backing him so lets give him a chance this season. So,Sissoko. Pushing 31. Right time to sell him.

BUY :

  1. Reguillon : No brainer LB transfer. He is available. Accept the buy back if required after say 3 yrs
  2. Edouard/Vinicius/Milik : Any one of them as Striker
  3. Konrad Laimer : Nonstop pressing CM. Can play through the pressure. Can also play right side. IMO, we need CM options and push Lo Celso and Ndombele high up field

Reguilon done...

I want change my Striker wish to Dzeko.

Dzeko deal from Roma to Juve is off,as Juve now signing Morata instead.
Dzeko is 34 but last season played 3500min in Serie A & EL - scored 19 assisted 14.

2 year deal may be ? 34 might seem old. But then Ronaldo is 35. If you are fit enough at this age, I believe he may be good enough for us.
He was rumoured to go to Juve for fee 15m. We can throw in a player loan may be & try to haggle the deal value down. More we save on striker, we could go for someone like Dias who will be expensive.

From my point of view and thinking about players Jose might actually play

In
Dias
Vinicius
Dalot

Out
Foyth
Aurier
Lamela/Moura

Would love to see a DM and Playmaker but that’s getting greedy

Odsonne Édouard - winning mentality, strong, powerful and deadly in front of goal, big game player for club and country, massive potential.

NAINGGOLAN - Short term deal, massive experience and winning mentality, plus friends with Toby so would fit in.

Samuel Umtiti - Again winning mentality of playing in big games for club and country, only 26 so will be approaching his prime, previous injury concern so could land him relatively cheap.

#hopefullynotFabianSchär

Out
Foyth - Young and talented and Argentine international, but not a Jose type player as likes a risk. Should get decent return for someone who is on the fringes.

Dele - Quality player and on his day is unplayable, however doesn't seem to suit Jose's preferred playing style and Huff's and could be a potential distraction within the dressing room. Could be a sale we'd regret in the future though post Jose.

Gazza - No need for 3rd keeper who could be a number 1 at a lower club, would demand a decent return considering Martinez to Villa price. Promote younger pkeeper as 3rd choice, great chance behind Lloris and Hart.

A striker and CB and I'd say we're looking in fantastic shape this year.

We could arguably get away with minor tweaks in 2021 Summer window (1-2 in) with the major refresh done in one window.

Options wise, i don't honestly watch enough european football to know good from average, but I'd expect the striker to be able to make a claim for a starting spot and be a good option next season if Harry moves on, else next summer we're solving the striker problem all over again. Jimenez type is ideal.

CB - Commanding and Solid. Simple.

I think we have the makings of a strong squad now for this season and with Doherty, PEH and Bale all being PL proven players I reckon the next 3 signings should be big potential ones, with the view that in the future one will become a key player, the other will be a squad player and the other will be a flop (playing the odds - ideally all 3 would become key players). I also think bringing in younger players is better having added experience from Bale and Doherty.

For me the 3 positions we still need to address are:

ST - Backup for Kane obvs
DM - We have no rotation/backup for PEH
CB - I think there are concerns around all 3 of our main CB options right now

My suggestions then for who to bring in with their age in brackets:

ST - Édouard (22yrs)
DM - Sangaré (22 yrs)
CB - Dias (23 yrs)

In order to make way these are the 3 that i would sell:

Rose - no place for him in the squad
Gazza - makes no sense having him as 2nd/3rd choice along with Hart and taking up a non HG spot
Foyth - great potential but doesn't seem to be the plans

Lloris
Hart
Doherty Alderweireld Dias Davies
Aurier Tanganga Sanchez Dier Reguilon
Ndombele Højbjerg Lo Celso
Gedson Lamela Sissoko Winks Sangare Dele Sessegnon
Bale Kane Son
Lucas Edouard Bergwijn
This then leaves us 2 players too many for the non HG quota for UEFA and 1 player too many for the PL. I reckon we probably then need to sell either Lamela and/or Sissoko.

Get CV and MS in.

For all that people say we're missing another midfielder, there is talent aplenty in that squad.

If Sissoko goes we should look at Sangare.
If Aurier goes, we use Tanganga at Docs competition, with Fourth a back up if he remains. No need for a direct replacement.
If Dele goes, I have no ideas...

Rose has to go, sad end to a great service.

I'm happy with variations on the squad above, but don't want a fire sale or too much extra disruption. We've already signed a good number. Include all the signings since Summer 2019 and the refresh is almost, if not entirely, complete.

Loans for Sess to regain an edge. Foyth to get games and improve, or advertise his ability. Same for Gazza of he's to be our next No.1, unless a team come in for him.

My wish list:

Buys

Bale
- We need winners. We need to show ambition if we want to keep Kane. I can see this happening.
Reguillon - Probably the hardest position to find quality and he is probably the best available and at a decent price.
Daka - I honestly don't know who. There are so many names foating around and I don't know enough to work out who I'd prefer. If we sign Bale, then I'm less concerned about having a ready-to-go forward and am happier that it's a kid who's mainly potential. Daka would seem to fit that bill but so do many of the others we've been linked with. If we don't get Bale then I'd lean towards Vinicius.

Well fuck me. Nice one Levy. Hi Steve!
