I live in Singapore, I have mates whom are Arsenal supporters.... there is adversity but less emotional. I too suffered like all fans.... but I won't go and make a statement out of it.
precisely my point....no offence.

Wenger always bounce back after a bad spell so I won't take it that we will definitely finish above them unless mathematically impossible. Anyway, I don't see a point of even celebrating finishing above Arsenal.

I certainly won't be rubbing their noses in it and when some goon I know asks why I'm not flying into him (or her), I'll just give a wry, smug smile. That will really drill into to their little ameobic brains. ;)

Btw if Man U wins Eoropa, it means top 4 will not qualify for UCL right?

no, if Man U win the Europa league and finish outside the top 4 there will be 5 in CL...

only way top 4 don't qualify is if fucking Leicester win the champions league afaik

No, it will be in addition to the top 4. There is a maximum of 5 teams from one league in the CL. Now if Leicester win the CL & Utd win the EL.... That would push 4th place into the EL

You can forget that scenario.... well, in about 5 hours time. I'm predicting Leicester to get slaughtered by about 4 or 5 goals tonight

The last quote on arsemania

"Am I a bad fan for feeling happy for them? They've done a good job of identifying a good manager and some solid players. They've coached them well and instilled, well, a winning spirit.
I will always root against them in the NLD. I don't have anywhere near the fondness in my heart for Spurs as I do for Gunners. But I do want clubs that build themselves wisely and play wisely to get results.
Football is a bit of a respite from regular life, at least for me, where people who try to do the right thing don't always seem to get good results."

It took me a minute or two to work that one out as we are 14 points ahead at the moment. Even if we both win our next two games a win for us at the NLD would mean we would be 17 points ahead with only 5 games left for them, and so a max of 15 points!

Here's hoping!

Let's not get ahead of ourselves until the season ends. 21 pts to play for and many things can happen. We are top 20 European team ATM but our Europe encounter are stil dismal. So let's support the team all the way and hope we can finish at least 2nd..... and win the FA cup. That would help us in mentality and also secure good talent.

On if Leicester City win CL also.

They can't guarantee it at NLD if we lose enough games to let them guarantee it before

See... that just sounds too easy......

When we have the choice between the easy way, or the broken glass strewn track over the ricketty bridge above a deep ravine full of burny burny hell fire, dragons, snake and a really vicious wasp. We always choose the latter....

First I wanted Arsenal to stay in the Top 4 and keep it competitive between us both. But then I thought, f**k that. Let them play the dodgy Thursday games we've endured.

Makes me laugh the Gooners saying, they'll win the league next season as they won't have CL to distract them. Yeah you also won't have Sanchez or Ozil. And ask United and lolpool how hard it is to get back into the Top 4. Mugs!

It's funny how we all used to say how our team didn't have any stars. Now that same team has stars like Kane, Alli, Alderweireld, Dembele, Lloris, maybe even Eriksen, Son, Wanyama, Rose, and Vertonghen. Basically the whole team!

No idea why they're comparing Pogba to Dele though. Pogba's more of a Dembele type for them, just not as good.
Your point about Dembele being better than Pogba is both funny and true. My brother in law is a massive Utd fan and was gutted when we signed Dembele, especially as there was news buzzing around Utd that they might have signed him before we did. Anyway, when Utd signed Pogba last summer I asked him if he was pleased with the signing and he said that Dembele was a bettter player. He's one of the more knowledgeable Utd fans.

Some tidbits from /r/gunners this AM in the "Spurs need only 11 points from 7 matches to finish above Arsenal for the first time since 1994-95 - and could guarantee it at the NLD on April 30." thread

"They are absolutely gonna seal that shit during the NLD. Written in the stars."

"This is the year boys, prepare yourselves for years worth of pent up inferiority complex driven abuse lol"

"Who the fuck cares. We have much bigger problems than Spurs finishing above us."

"I can see it now: we squeak past City to make the Cup Final against Spurs. They beat us at Wembley, in Arsene's last ever game as manager, to win the FA Cup whilst simultaneously finishing above us in the league.

Kill me."

"Well after 20 years it had to happen some day. That match could be one of the worst I've ever seen in my entire life"

"Spurs fans will be coming back from the dead to see them finish above us. Their inferiority complex is so strong it can raise the dead."

"Every Spurs fan's dying wish...

"Bury me with my 2016-2017 We Finally did it DVD""

"Kane will bang us left and right in the derby and secure it for them. It's not going to be pretty lol."

"I dread the NLD. Could get ugly."

"I don't think Arsenal fans realise how bad this is going to be. Its going to be a tough 6 months for any Arsenal fan living in London, we will not hear the end of it."

"It's definitely going to happen. Imagine that we lose the NLD, they secure their finish above us, and then Wenger announces a new contract that evening. Would be fucking hilarious how much of a meltdown our club would go into. But I wouldn't even be surprised."

"After 21 years it was bound to happen at some point. They should enjoy it and revel in it after having had to wait so long for that day.

They have finally arrived. Not even joking."

"Am I a bad fan for feeling happy for them? They've done a good job of identifying a good manager and some solid players. They've coached them well and instilled, well, a winning spirit.

Not sure I'll even mention it to my Arsenal supporting mates if we finish above them. That should wind gem up even more if I'm not bothered about it. Aiming higher and all that will be my answer if they ask why there's no gloating.

But we haven't done it yet.

In a funny sort of way it seems to mean more to them than it does to us, it's like it is all they've had to hold on to.

Got a nice big bite from a gooner at work today.

Was winding him up about the Palace game and he smugly mentioned potential names for the reverse St Totterings day... casually shrugged and said I wasn't bothered at looking behind us I was only looking forward and he flew off on one saying "one bloody year you're ahead, don't go thinking you're a bigger club than us":LOL::LOL::LOL::LOL::LOL:

Think I touched a nerve

I remember how annoying West Ham fans were in 2008 when they came above us. It didn't matter that they literally came 10th and we came 11th, or that we'd won a trophy and qualified for Europe, or that we'd beaten them 4-0 that season, they still went nuts over it. "HAHA WE FINISHED ABOVE SPUUUUURS / THIRD BEST TEAM IN LONDON" etc etc.

Can you imagine what it would be like for Arsenal to finish behind us if we end 21 years of frustration and actually achieve something while doing it, like winning the FA Cup or taking away their Champions League spot?

Was with an old school friend over the weekend who supports Arsenal. He's completely given up on their season and said the only thing he hopes for left is that Chelsea beat us to the title just to stop us from winning it as we'd be unbearable otherwise. I pointed out the irony that he used to rip on me for doing the exact same thing every year with them and Man Utd when we were kids. Funny how things work out...

West Ham are the worst though.
I'd keep arsenal in the PL but keep them shit.
West Ham can fuck off into administration for all inl care.

I think that's the best way to react ..... as if it doesn't matter, they're not on our radar. We have far bigger fish to fry, like winning the title, CL, anything .... but they are not important to us. Let them stew. Feckers!
