Sometimes I think 'if only there was a thread I could go to to see what our weekends opponents were saying about us'.

I often have these thoughts.

In fairness, I've just popped over to the Bournemouth forum to see what they're saying.

The only Spurs related discussions are about which trains to take up to London which I don't think is better than funny shag stories.

Nope, just bitching about trains :p

"Just double checked the trains on Saturday to Waterloo. Wtf is going on?"

"Quicker trains if you change."

"Prepare to spend a while in a repacement bus with angry people"

"our train service to london is crud, bleedin pgmol"

"The infrastructure in general down south is crud, and northerners think we get special treatment"

"The return trains on Saturday will be taking just over 2 hours to Bournemouth, so quicker than going up.

Having said that though, the fastest steam trains in 1957 only took two hours"

"I always liked that route for the rapid deterioration of the sound of the place names. "This train will be calling at Weybridge, Addlestone, Chertsey, Virginia Water, Egham and Staines" best get off now then"

NGL I actually laughed at that last one though (y)

From Cherry Chimes:

Spurs are much better than last season's team

Spurs have been amazing at home in 2017
and are unbeaten this year at White Hart Lane.
I thought Spurs would go close to winning the title last season, and while they are still chasing this season I am convinced they are a much stronger outfit now. Their forward line has been strengthened as was shown by the way the continued to rack up the points even when Harry Kane has been recovering from injury. The goals have been flowing and it's not just Deli Ali that is exciting the fans at White Hart Lane.
Tottenham have only had one defeat on their last 10 games when they had a 2-0 defeat at Liverpool, but recently they have been ruthless at dispatching teams especially at home. It was the win against Swansea City though that has made people sit up again and ponder if this Spurs side can really still catch Chelsea. To win games in the last few minutes gives a tremendous boost to a team and Spurs are still riding on that win.

Their forward line has really improved since the form of Son Heung-Min has taken off. He is not a player that automatically fitted into Pochettino's system, but he has become a regular starter now and is proving deadly accurate when he comes in from the wing and unleashes shots. With 11 goals and four assists, Son has made a big impact and not just for his hand-dancing goal celebrations.
It has taken Christian Eriksen much longer to get into Pochettiono's thoughts, but he has started to deliver this season and has been able to react as soon as he got his chance with Kane being out of the team. Eric Lamela is another player that is full of potential and if he can put consistent performances in it starts to become apparent that Spurs are developing a side that has able replacements for when one of their big hitters needs a few games out.
AFCB did well to hold Spurs, without a certain Mr Kane, down at Dean Court earlier this season, but this game will be very much harder and I have a feeling it will be Spur's attack that will see most of the ball on Saturday.

Just to keep it on topic, AFC Bournemouth forum, discussion about our game tomorrow:

I'm driving up to from Wiltshire on Saturday but looking to get the train or tube to White Hart Lane from the outskirts of London. Grateful if anyone got any ideas on where the best station is to do this? I used Hammersmith last year and parking was easy but it was a Sunday.

You could park up at Richmond, theres a car park next to the station, take overground to Highbury & islington, then Victoria line to Totteham Hale

I sometimes use Ealing Common station. Easy to get to from the M4 and usually plenty of parking in Granville Gardens next to the station. Think it may be free parking at weekends as well but please don't quote me on that.

...park at Cheshunt then rail to WHL station, short walk to the ground.....or park at Richmond tube Victoria then change to to Seven Sisters then walk up Tottenham High Road to ground, it is about a mile walk though but quite pleasant!

Cheers guys.

I can't decide what to do now... Last year got train from Pokesdown to Waterloo then Underground to Seven Sisters.

7:26 gets to Waterloo at 10:02 (no changes).
Bakerloo line to Oxford Circus and then hop on the Victoria line to Seven Sisters and do the long walk. Reckon we'd be at WHL about half 11ish.

Seems the easiest way to do it?

I'm doing Richmond, Victoria, Seven Sisters then maybe walk or overland train to ground.
Planned it soooo much I now have about 381 various routes I could take!

I'm doing 6-42 from Bmth Station, arriving at Waterloo at 9-32,tube to Liverpool Street to meet a mate, quick pint and something to eat hopefully, then overground at 11 to White Hart Lane which should get there around 11-30 .
Any delays it's going to be tight.

Last year I got the train to white hart lane pre match but walked to tube after the game as the queues for the overground were so long. The walk was a bit of a pain so was just wondering how long you have to queue for mainline train post match...is it fairly fast moving or very slow?

I queued up last season at WHL overground after the game and was on a train within 15 minutes.

Spurs are looking really good right now.. Chelsea better not bottle this, gettting a bit worried tbh.
Spurs gonna challenge for title as long poch is there but won't end up to winning it Chelsea and man city will be favourites
Thank **** for Chelsea having such a good year, Spurs are a machine at the moment
We've still got to go there
They can't be this good next season, especially playing at Wembley. These ****s are playing like the old Man U. Hope to **** Poch does one soon./Quote]

Dembele has scored. It was coming.

Now that was quality.

Spurs really are brilliant.

Game over.

Spurs make it look easy.

Spurs are unstoppable. They score for fun. If we were half as clinical we'd be 4th no problem.

Playin lovely stuff here. Son really improved this season.

Spurs won this already. They are so clinical in front of goal.

I remember when we did this at home vs teams.

Spurs are great. Poch has done a fantastic job there

12 - Christian Eriksen now has more assists than any other player in the Premier League this season.

Only team that needs to be concerned with Spurs are Chelsea. They are not dropping out of the top 3

Well that was a fun game, i thought matches were supposed to last 90mins of play time and a 15minute break though? This appears to have lasted 20 in total.

It's not fair. I mean, it looks like Spurs actually practice shooting at the goal and scoring goals. Baffling

Spurs play football at 10 times the speed that United do. No wonder they score so many goals.

Spurs are so much better than us. Glaston has won vs the caf. Whether it's his spurs predictions for the future or the alli vs pogba discussions. He's won.
Who says perseverance doesn't pay off[/quote]

Just admit that Tottenham are superior and the best team in the league. I don't like them because of their over-physical style but they are a strong team. I really want to see them in Europe next season and see if they can improve from this year's disaster display.

I watch Spurs for my weekly fix of fun football these days. United just don't entertain me as much anymore, and i just watch us every time because it's United.

Spurs are the team. Huge credit to Pochettino

Spurs are better than us both defensively and offensively.

Son has 18 goals and 4 assists in all club competitions. He does the job.

It's all about winning. Spurs are the best I've ever seen them at the moment and United, City, Liverpool and Arsenal are all varying levels of shite. Yet they're still not going to win anything this season.

As the big sides rebuild, and players like Alli, Kane, Dembele, Alderweireld, Lloris and Eriksen start attracting serious attention from bigger clubs, Spurs are going to look back at season's like this one as massive opportunities missed.

But we won't be selling them to you.

The way Glaston and some others behave you'd think Spurs are going to win a league and CL double this season.

As things stand, it's yet another year without any silverware for the serial underachievers.

The reason everyone is applauding Spurs this season is because of the quality of football they're playing this season. They play the best brand of football. How is that under achieving ?
Obviously a lot of posters talking about us not winning anything

From Rawk:

Personally don't rate Spurs that highly ( not sour grapes) but their defensive record is top draw and their recent home record has surprised myself . Have a nice balanced squad full of men not boys, but don't find them good to watch .

Wouldn't be at all surprised if Tottenham equal our number of goals today. Bournemouth are wretched at the back.

Sadly I cannot see anything other than a Spurs win, though I would love to be proved wrong.

Spurs have their entire attacking front line back hardly a surprise. I wish we had that luck with injuries.

Spurs getting away with fouls again, Son and Walker in dangerous positions grappling and body checking. They get away with a lot defensively- suppose its the Argentine style!

Bugger Bournemouth they were up for it when they played us, as usual cave in against everyone else.

I don't think they were that good at Anfield. We just didn't play well at all, don't think it was a case of them raising their game.(y)

People actually Believe this nonsense? We should of battered them at Anfield. No excuses

The ref gets the assist for that goal. He was giving Spurs every decision.

Incredible to think we got 1 point from Bournemouth this year. Their defence is easily worst of the worst I've seen at this level.

I wouldn't write them out of the title race just yet, Chelsea grind results out but Spurs are making it look easy. Would be interesting if the gap was cut to 4 on level games.

Spurs solidifying 2nd place. Out of reach for us and everyone else

If this Spurs team are the 2nd best team in the league it just shows how bad the league is. This team wouldn't have been near the top 4 a few years ago. :poop:

Think that's rubbish. They're a quality side.

I don't think it's rubbish at all. Imagine this team against the Man U or Arsenal teams of old. They're get absolutely stuffed.

I didn't say they're weak. But they are solid at the back and have a good striker. Their midfield is nothing to write home about at all.

Why do so many find it difficult to give credit where it's due, this is as good a Spurs team I can remember. They've competed for the title twice in the last 2 seasons....

They are a good side with no real weaknesses, but no real outstanding areas either. I kind of agree it wouldn't come top 4 a decade ago.

here we go with the usual Evertonesque Spurs are shite shouts....
grin.gif
....so small time....give a bit of credit where it's due eh

Can't explain it but would much rather Chelsea win the league than spurs. Even though i hate Chelsea more.

Got to give spurs credit though fantastic team.

Just give credit where it's due, Pocchetino has built a solid side without spending multi millions like some clubs have

Looking at the talent they have in midfield at the moment, Eriksen Alli Dembele especially, I can't see many teams of the last ten to fifteen years utterly outclassing them when they hit top form.

Add to that the organisation and work ethic that Pochettino has instilled, I think you do them a little bit of a disservice.

Them vs us with us playing our best and them playing their best, we would twat them.

They're a title challenging team, they probably lack the experience and belief but they're improving. They have been without all the defenders for periods this season, Rose has been out for quite some time now I think.

They won't be a title winning side until they win a title. They play fucking lovely football, front to back. Pochetino has done a great job, better than any SPurs manager for decades. He'll be gone this summer, possibly to Barcelona - if that happens its thoroughly deserved, but tough on Spurs fans

Lovely football ?

Agree. I'd have Rose, and the two CBs, and a couple of their cmfs in a heartbeat. (half the team then, what about the goalkeeper and Kane)

Don't find them good to watch to be honest. Just solid and manage a game very well

Basically this, they're just ahead of us at the moment. What I would say is that our ceiling is higher once we get this right.

Spurs finished with 70 points last season. We should beat that this season so we are ahead of them in conparison.

Very confident we will be much closer next season , may take another 2 to level off and start to move ahead of them under Klopp

Absolutely. Definitively see us taking a couple of extra steps in our development. As long we can cope with the extra matches we'll be around where Spurs are now or better for sure.

We are just a bunch of hypocrites because when we challenged all rivals fan said that the league was rubbish e.t.c and we are doing the same for spurs now. We are also including ourselves in the rubbish because we are behind this spurs team?!. They are a very good side and we are a good side with room for improvement.

Liverpool fans have for decades been lauded for being knowledgeable and appreciative of good football whoever plays it. I remember watching Dynamo Tbilisi at Anfield and the Kop giving them a great reception for playing some outstanding footie. But maybe that is dead now, because I see far too many fans just rolling out the nonsense that every other team is either shit or lucky, or "they have a deeper squad than us" - as if having a squad is a new idea.
Its depressing - especially today.

Harry Kane: Only the third player in PL history(when football started) to get 20 goals three seasons in a row. Henry and RVN being the other two.

All the credit we are giving spurs but they have been lucky in the fact they've not had all their best players out at once like we have.

Would be good to see spurs play teams who aren't shite. why does it feels like they haven't played big teams for a while.

I don't think I've heard Hugo Lloris' name whole match today.
