When were they on par ffs???

Last summer. In fact every off season as far as they're concerned, when they've magically closed the gap and will probably finish above us thanks to their new stadium/player/manager (delete as appropriate). Then they get to this time of year and somehow they find themselves exactly the same 20 points behind they were last year and blame the owners for it.

In fairness, they're not wrong about their owners though.

We were on a par with them in the late 90s. Not long ago in geological terms I guess.

Pochinttino has worked miracles with this Spurs team, impressive again.

Nice 1/4 final appearance for Spurs. That will be as far as they go.
No doubt Redknapp and Jenas will say they can won it, Lolz.

That 2nd half performance by Dortmund was diabolical. I haven't watched them enough this season to know what to make of it but I struggle to think they could have beaten even Cardiff with that type of display.

Think Dortmund will be glad to go out really. Increases their chances of winning the league.
Especially since they know Bayern are getting knocked out too.

One of these days I'm going to have to admit that Spurs are a bit good.

Schooled is probably appropriate given half their team are kids. 5 players 20 or younger is it? Spurs haven't been impressive, Dortmunds kids have been very poor and made them look good.

Bayern must be really poor if they're second to that lot.

Shameful that from Dortmund

Didn't watch the game but we always hear this whenever Liverpool play well. "Liverpool weren't that good, City / Roma / Porto were just really bad". Just sounds like sour grapes in all honesty.

I've no idea where you ever got that from. I quite like Pochettino. But he has the blueprint players to get results, and they more or less fell into his lap. He should be doing more for what he has, to be honest. Possible question marks over the keeper position, but other than that, he is doing at least what he would be expected to do given the players he has at his disposal.

Re. West Ham being on par with us...

Their 100 year league highlights consist of:

-One 3rd place finish (1985-86)

-One 5th place finish (1998-99)

-Er, that's it

To be fair, they are a well-known club in the UK, but that masks the fact that they're basically a mid-table or relegated outfit and have been for most of their history.

It's pretty astonishing that some (most!) of their fans think that they're anywhere near the top-table of football. They've NEVER had a period of sustained success!

That last quote in Paolo10’s post is totally ridiculous. It is Poch who has made the team what it has become. He has shown the players how good they can be and they have risen to his challenge. They believe in him and he believes in them.

I actually don't mind when opponent fans talk about "Rub of theg green" or "Dortmund playing under par". That's just banter.
But what does trigger me is this "Spurs don't deserves to be here" and similar statements. How can you crawl so far up your own ass that those kind of statements make sense? It's like the world of football is supposed to be ancient greece where you're either born to be a slave or a noble man and if you dare to question that you'll be punished by the Gods.

I
I see where you are coming from , however thats the type of comment that I love. It means that we've actually arrived and I hate it.

'We don't deserve to be there' in their eyes we don't because we haven't spent shit loads of money to do it. We are there by great coaching, great young players (now grown up together) and a fantastic team spirit. Everyone expected us to get CL for 1 year, well we are now very nearly in the last 16 in our 3 rd season of being in the CL in, and we will make the CL again next season

WE were supposed to be a 1 off, but we seem to have gatecrashed the party, overstayed our welcome and have decided we want to take over the place.

Fuck them all
