Any Goons crying about them signing someone they've never heard of whilst we're splashing the cash?

Most are.

One DID try to play the optimist, saying that Its obvious Spurs are playing for now while Arsenal is clearly trying to build a future for the club.

With Ndombele now confirmed, there's general acknowledgement on RAWK that we've done sound business.

"Ndombele looks done to Spurs. Best signing so far. £65m."

"Sadly an outrageously good signing for them."

"Still can't believe someone like Madrid or Bayern weren't in for him. He's honestly far too good for Spurs. He's a game changer for them. Their weakness was in midfield and they've gone and sorted it."

"Ndombele is a younger Mousa Dembele. He's a physical specimen who progresses the ball at a very high level equally well via dribbling or passing while being solid defensively. He's not the type of player we need at the moment but I also don't relish the thought of our midfield having to deal with him."

As you may have noted, Liverpool fans have, well, calmed down. Sure, there remains some dislike, but it tends to be aimed at specific players rather than the club or the fans. All things considered, the general tone on RAWK towards us has moved on from pant-wetting hysteria to grudging respect, which I think is best summed up by this post.

"Thought I'd absolutely love the fact that we'd won number 6 at the expense of Spurs, who I've despised in recent years. However, I actually felt for them. By all accounts, the fans were sound in Madrid. After all the excitement and build-up, to concede a penalty after seconds must have been devastating. This time last year I was still gutted about Kiev and I didn't want anything to do with football and I'm sure they have similar feelings now.

Funny how we responded to our disappointment with an early statement signing of a top midfielder from the French league, and now they're doing similar. Now they're spending money they're definitely one to watch."

Although the pay-off line to that post does show it won't take much for hostilities to resume...

Having said all that, I take great pleasure in seeing Alan Sugar unhappy. Fuck that ****.

Who's ready for some salt for Arsehole mania?...

:playful:

I just hope Sp**s don’t get Ndombélé. This guy is the real deal

He will not join Sp**s if he is the real deal.

In the last hour , it is being reported on french radio that Ndombélé has signed for Sp**s for €63 million .

But but Arsenal Mania said he’ll never join them?

Ndombele is the signing of the summer for me. Excellent bit of business by the Chickens, Pochettino the main man

Well I can understand him not favouring moving to Sp**s because he want to play in more bigger clubs if he move to and keep preforming very well than a bigger team will but in 2 years time

Going to Sp**s might hamper his move to a big club later. Especially if Levy signs him to a 47 year deal as he does with all Sp**s players. He'd be smart trying to get a 3 year deal & leave on a free.

Must be hard to fit a 65m player who looks great but yet to achieve anything in the Sp**s wage structure. Senior pros there in the 70-100k bracket.

He should stay at Lyon for another year. Then again, a good stint at Sp**s and he could get a major move later.

Sp**s are c*nts at letting players move though. Imagine if he has a good year there, Levy would want 150M+ ffs.

Not to twist the knife, but Sp*rs wouldn't be getting Ndombele if we had beaten Brighton at home. Simple as that.

Not saying we would have bought him, i'm saying Sp*rs wouldn't be able to buy him if we'd got CL and they got EL. Ndombele is just the first illustration of the diverging directions the two clubs are taking as a result of our horrendous collapse at the end of the season.

This club has had so many f*ck-ups since around 2013, both on and off the pitch. It's hard to tell which f*ck-ups are the ones which really f*cked it all up. But I'd say our last 5 games of 18/19 are pretty high on the list.

I am frankly surprised that Sp**s is willing to pay up to 72 M Euros for N'Dombele. They are breaking their transfer record with this move by a large margin. We definitely seem to be on a complete different path.

Why are Tottenham such c*nts, don't they have their own scouts.

Ceballos + Ndombele is pretty big to be honest.

Think Eriksen is off and the 70m quoted are directly put in for Ndombele. Ceballos loan means a perfect player for now with either a slight chance to keep him or adjust next year. Anyhow, we should focus on ourselves, but this is pretty worrying business to be honest

Sp**s spending their Eriksen money on Ndombele and getting Ceballos on loan as an addition. Miles ahead on and off the pitch

Yep, proper well run club

Daniel Levy earns his money. Ruthless.

Great deal for them. They acted quick and bought him credit to them

Depressing.

The power shift is complete

Love those 3 opinions.

It's amazing how (if you read other clubs forums) so many mention how well run our club is, and how well Daniel Levy actually does his job. Yet, if you read our own forums, there's always a queue of people waiting to stick the knife in & constantly call for new owners.

People constantly slagging Levy off for not splashing the cash enough (for their likings) but now maybe you're seeing just why those purse strings have been so tight.

Remember when Arseanal finished their stadium & pretty much couldn't spend anything significant for the best part of a decade?

Well our club has just splurged a minimum £52mil, just a few short months after the completion of our crazily expensive new stadium, and are blatantly going to spend even more in the weeks to come.

As the very last Gooner quote provided by @Shadydan states, "The power shift is complete".

Fuck the haters. Thank you, Daniel Levy.

No i don't because that is not what happened. Their payments for the new stadium were £20m a year. Which they are still paying and will be until 2031.
The extra matchday revenue was £60m a year.
That meant they were £40m a year better off than in highbury.

They didn't spend big because wenger didn't want to. Not because they didn't have money. They had as much money in the bank as all the other pl teams combined.

The ‘American Gooner’ character on there is just hilarious. He is like their forum’s version of Ty from AFTV. He is deluded beyond belief, it is absolute comedy gold watching his posts.

He lives in pure desperation and denial. His comments when we won our CL games were hilarious.

This is his latest utter denial of reality...

“Their new signings usually take a season to settle in, so unless N'Dombele bucks that trend hopefully we can close the gap to them. They'll have to start replacing some of the experienced members of the squad in the next couple of years so I actually don't think they'll pull away from us, the way Wenger did after the 2011-2013 period of finishing above them by a point.”

What a clown! We must have almost the youngest squad in the league.
