Two Wham fans in the local are so pleased they didn't get Mourinho (like they had a chance). They want Benitez so he can keep them ticking along apparently. No idea myself, I said surely Pellegrini could keep them up and at their level and they just shrugged and went off to check the tow bar on their caravans.

You know when you start going out with the hot, crazy chick, and all your friends are like 'wow, she hot but she crazy'

and you're like 'I know, but I don't care'

and they're like 'she'll stab you, man'

and you're like 'naah'

and they're like 'no, she really will, man, she stabbed her last three boyfriends'

and you're like 'I know, but, come on, it will be worth it'

and they're like 'reallllly?'

and you're like 'yeah...', but deep down you really don't know?

Well, that's pretty much every conversation I had at work with fans of other teams about Mourinho today.

It's also pretty much every conversation I had at work about my new girlfriend today, but that's another story.

My Chelsea supporting fan who's had a season ticket for 20+ years says

"As a Chelsea fan it’s a mixed bag. On one hand if he’s really lost his touch, what better way to cripple a rival and allow us to revel in the collective failure. On the other hand, if has has learned from recent experience and can win a league or Champion’s league with spurs it will hurt SOOOOOO bad!"

"That would be amazing.Keep him out of arsenal" when there were rumours last night. He thinks we might win an fa cup now.

I would hope there's a clause in Poch's severance deal which precludes him from managing in the PL for the foreseeable future.
Any club prepared to back him with more transfer money, and any club that seriously approaches him and is worth his serious consideration, will find they have a formidable partnership possible. Tottenham will have no substantial complaint, nothing that won't be laughed off by the football world generally, if Poch ends up running Arsenal, Chelsea, Manchester United or Manchester City. If people who've campaigned for Poch to go from Spurs find themselves discomfited by such a development with Poch a club elsewhere, well, boo-hoo!

I don't think Poch will join Arsenal, he has gone on record before saying that understand's club loyalty between two big rivals, and secondly, he can go onto manage a much bigger club than Arsenal, such as Man U & Real Madrid.
But it can't be any business of anyone involved with Tottenham, from where he's been sacked, who he agrees to work for. He's a middle-aged man with years of employment left in him.

Severence isn't a lump sum - it'll be installments/wages that end as soon as/if clauses are hit (another job, for example).

That's how it works with PL managers, regardless of whether someone wants to believe it. Same as the "It'll cost £30m!", when it clearly didn't/won't.

LOL if I'm Poch and Levy said that in the final meeting I'd punch him in the face. Poch did everything Levy asked for in terms of handling Wembley, the stadium move farce, no transfers, contracts running out. He owes Levy nothing more now. If Man Utd want him or Pep leaves City and they want him he's a free man.

Yep that’s what I’m hearing/seeing too.

The most common one (and I’ve seen it on here a lot as well) is “enjoy the next season and a half as come your 3rd season the wheels will fall off”

That might well be true but isn’t this exactly how all managers reigns end. I mean, it’s pretty obvious it just varies in terms of how long it takes to get to that point. With Poch it was 5, with Arry it was 4 or 5 with AVB less. You don’t sack a manager when shit is going well as no manager can keep winning forever so I really don’t get thistype of comment. If Jose gets us a respectable league finish (top 6) and we win the FA cup and the following year gets us back into CL and wins say the league cup I won’t really care if it goes a bit shit in the 3rd season and we get rid as this is just how football is.

Difference with RM/MU/Chelsea is that we won't see 'not winning the league' as a failure.

He's under waaaay less pressure, which makes it interesting.

WHAM are getting back together with Rafa Benitez in place of George Michael?

I had a look on KUMB and they also thought that they should at least have a go at getting Poch. Er right.

What are those 'Appy 'Ammers saying about us...

What have they done?

Replaced a highly regarded / talented manager in world football with a washed up loon.

Still, he might win them a trophy

This is just weird. He’s a washed up loon but still, he might win us a trophy, you know, that thing that all footballers aim to win? Thanks for that assessment Mr West Ham fan, you contradictory falafel.

On a separate note, I’m off to make love to the missus. She’s a washed up loon but still, she’ll make me jizz*
