Arsenal fan at work had a comment to make every time we passed each other today, I couldn't help but think "this guy is actually scared!".
These people always end up with egg on their faces.

I used to work with a Leeds fan who was joking about AVBs appointment and everytime we talked about football he'd mock me about AVB saying we'd be fighting relegation. Suffice to say he wasn't saying anything by spring time. Luckily I left before the second season.

My gooner cousin relentlessly posts jokes and memes whenever something bad happens with us, even a defeat after a winning streak. Then Arsenal go and get beat hilariously or do something worse.

It's mental how these people never learn and can't help themselves.

You could say they same about us and Mourinho

Why haven't we been paying attention at how he completely lost the plot in his last 2 jobs at Chelsea and Man Utd

What makes anyone think it will be different with us.

What makes you think it’ll be the same?

It’s the same thing I keep see, but then people wanted Ancellotti because he is top quality but he has exactly the same traits. Most managers do.

What Mourinho will at least bring is the respect of the players. We’ll be able to prevent an instant crumble and everyone wanting to leave.

All the ‘he’s lost is touch stuff and plays boring football’ I really don’t care about. Different clubs, different players, different challenges. At Utd he was managing a legacy (that every manager there has failed to do). At Tottenham he’s going to manage a club and a good group of players.

I’m pretty positive he’ll be a success.

actually, I think other teams' fans see this pretty much as most Spurs fans see it: we're rolling the dice here, big time. the risk/reward on Mourinho is huge. are they scared shitless that it could all go right? yes, they are. but they also know it could all go wrong, and that's what they're banging on about. for us, it's the same, but vise versa. we're excited about the prospect of success - he wins shit everywhere! - and so that's what we're banging on about. but a lot of us are scared shitless, too, whatever we may be saying, about how it could play out.

… or maybe it's jut me.

Emery's job is hardly safe. Poor form, players rebelling, wanting out. If Emery had been fired first, you can bet their fans would be excited at the prospect of Mourinho.

Arsenal fans are actually really pissed off with this, had so many sly comments about Mourinho from them and predicting the usual doom and gloom but now they seem really angry and I think the anger is directed at their board because they are not showing any ambition by keeping Emery around whilst we are by hiring Jose.

Yep, while I still need time to adjust to seeing us managed by Mourinho I'd much rather see him at our club than down the road. Just goes to show how much more appealing we are than them, we can thank Poch for that.

They are in denial, a lot of them wanted Mourinho to replace Emery, but as soon as he joins us they say oh he's washed up, he's outdated in the modern game etc

And Levy. Who delivered a world class stadium and training facilities.

It's weird isn't it. A while back I was going to have a mate over for pre drinks, and he had managed to spill the beans to a friend of his, who I know, but don't particularly like. So he wondered if he could come too. I was very much against the idea, but the guy's brother recently pulled a Giggs, so I do feel rather sorry for him and went along with it.

Now this guy is an Arsenal fan, and all he did all night was making snide remarks about Spurs. It's like it's in their fucking DNA. I mean, I could understand it if it was Liverpool. But Arsenal just aren't in a postion where they shoould make fun of anyone. Funnily enough, his twat brother is a Spurs fan, so no wonder the bird prefers him.

If he wins us numerous trophies in 2/3 seasons then leaves, I'll be more than happy if this constitutes 'losing the plot'.
Should be noted Chelsea went on to win the league the season after he 'left their club in ruins', as some posters are convinced he will do here.

Told a Liverpool friend yesterday that he should watch out as we were coming for them and he just laughed. Then i asked him if he saw the presser and he said no. When he heard some of the things that Jose said, there was a look of confusion on his face and then for a moment, there was the look of abject fear like a cornered animal. That gave way to his poker face. If Jose has turned a corner, then Spurs could be formidable for a long time to come.

Yeah same, it's generally not a peep about Spurs then the minute we have a bad run or they go above us for 5 mins the smirky snide comments come out. I think they're suffering from an inferiority complex after recent years so jump on any chance to say "see we're better than you!"

Last week one told me "Jose would never go to Spurs!" when I suggested it and he laughed off the suggestion... I look forward to seeing him next week

This was the day we had been hammered by Brighton iirc, so I guess it's understandable to some extent. But he kept harping on about it. Not only that, mind, but also about how Tierney was the best left back in the league

I have a theory that every rival fan or pundit who mocks the Jose appointment or makes the usual 'he can't do it without a warchest' comment, are making their observations from a deep rooted basis of fear as to how good we could be under Jose. I reckon if you could have an honest conversation with an Arsenal fan (tricky i know) they would admit to being terrified, just as we probably would have been had Jose rocked up at the library.
Exactly this, my Everton fan mate saying he’s overrated etc so I mention his mere 20 trophies and he said yes but how much money has he spent, zzz (all top teams and managers spend a decent amount, lpool and Man City wouldn’t be where they’re if it wasn’t for spending).

whereas my arsenal fan mate just said yep I’m shitting myself that he’ll do really well for you guys.

I’m just trying to get my head around this.

Poch in charge, rival fans “never won anything, not a world class manager”.

Poch sacked “terrible decision, brilliant manager, needed more time blah blah blah”.

Indeed everyone keeps bringing up his time at Yanited, but the fact is he should never have taken that job when he did. The infighting at boardroom level was absurd at the time, but I guess it was too big a job to turn down.
