The problem with Gooners is they haven't been humbled since Wenger join that shitstain of a club. 20 years of consistent title challenges and CL football, every other team around them has had to suffer at least one humbling season of no CL football in that time, which tends to temper the edges somewhat. But the Gooners? All their nouveau, hipster douchebag, spamming social media fans haven't known a humbling and so they want Wenger out after every loss because they think that's the worst it could possibly get for them.

Frankly until they either finish out of the CL places or we finish above them they'll continue to be ungrateful ****s who would rather whine about the greatest manager in their history than support their club properly.

On a slight tangent, SP mentioned generating a feel-good buzz at the club from the fans, well I've never been prouder of our fans than during the Swansea game, even after their goal they didn't get down or get on the players backs. They supported the club as we bombarded the Swansea goal and got our just dessert's. Outside of a big derby I've never seen the Lane rocking like that, and I loved every second of it.

This.

There are so many Arsenal fans from those in their early 30s down to kids, who have seen nothing but good times at that club; times that other clubs can only dream about.

Case in point; like SP said, they get drawn against Barcelona and what's the response? Moaning!

99% of other clubs would go crazy to play Barcelona. It's what football's all about. Big games, glory nights, testing yourself against the best, watching the top world stars live at your home ground.

But no.

Whining.

not a fan, but leroy fer on the swans website.

“It was a difficult time to come on as they had just equalised from a corner and they were building momentum.
“You could see from the pressure and chances they had that it was going to be difficult to get a result.
“They were like a storm, and although we defended very well we just couldn’t contain one of the best – if not the best – team in the league.

Sorry guys to pick out your comments, there were more, you were just unlucky.

However, I lost a friend to suicide and it is a serious problem worldwide. Suicide is not a joke and should not be made fun of in any way, or at any time. I don't mean to be precious but I feel really strongly about it, I find it really offensive. If you want to see how serious I think about click on the link in my sig.

Mate, my uncle attempted to kill himself but my aunt got him to the hospital in time and my mum was talking about it last year sue to depression. I agree its not a joke, but when someone like Claude leaves a "suicide note" on social media, he is just looking for attention #sorrynotsorry

I can't get enough of reading this kinda stuff from opposition players/managers/coaches and the press. Love it.

Incidentally, it does make me wonder when we'll be getting our very own hipster fans arriving

We have plenty. Happened that one season we got Champions League. Suddenly we were supposed to get it every year

It's funny to laugh at Arse but let's not pretend our lot are perfect. White Hart Lane has been shocking for years. Just because the team is massively over performing and has a shot at something unthinkable and the crowd has found its lungs doesn't make us not fickle

That it's comment-worthy that the crowd kept singing when 1-0 down is quite telling

Brilliant!. One of these days Claude is going to grab hold of Tys neck and shake him to death like a Jack Russell with a rat!
That's the dream right there...not mocking Claude's mental state or anything, but if I was a copper in Islington, and this morning I get a report of a prozzie found strangled in a canal....I'd be straight round Claude's house.
You can tell that he's killed before lads.

Kumb have got 6 pages in their match thread v us already.

Got tickets for this one, hoping for an absolute classic ( and a chance to put a dent in their title 'challenge')

Love the way he's got challenge in little inverted commas like we're not really challenging.

Means so much to both teams...this really can be described however you like. It really could be described as a cup final...for both sides and fans.
Years they have been saying it's not their cup final. This fella has just admitted it.
It's big, but it's not our cup final pal.

I'm never confident before matches and Tottenham have been the consistently best and, more importantly, lucky team in the premier league this season. We struggled to get the ball in the second half yesterday, until Obiang came on. I doubt he'll start on Weds.

2-0 Spurs with a soft penalty helping them on the way.

Ye we've lucked our way to 2nd in the league.

Their run and title challenge will come to an end starting Wednesday night.

seriously hope I am wrong but I think we may get a bit of run around on Wednesday.

Massive week for Spurs, fancy us, they will have 1 eye on Arse.

Obviously hasn't heard our manager say after every game only the next one is important.

No doubt that this is a good Spurs team but they have got a touch of the Arsenals about them and could be fragile. Got to get about them In midfield and pressure their full backs. They are full of confidence so we need to hit them from the off. If we're at it we can get a result. Feel the crowd will play a big part in this one.

A touch of the Arsenal's? What? Get back in your caravan

Hate to say it, but this Spurs side are the real deal
Joint top scorers, best defensive record by a country mile and they seem virtually unbeatable
Any cock ups and they will capitalise...we have to be on our game and everyone needs to turn up
A slow start and they will put us to the sword...if we have to chase the game, they **** is on the break
We can win this game and this could just be one of those special nights under the lights
We look unbeatable. But you can win it...riiiiight

I'd deliberately lose at home to Watford just to stop Spurs from being the last team to beat us at the BG

Sad case

That's about it. Rest is calling us Spuds or team selection. Very few nuggets of any real info other than that.

They just don't want to lose.

I think that's rubbish to be honest. The crowd has been like that for a long time, I still remember us being very loud when 3-1 down at home to City. I think the problem in recent years has been watching players like Paulinho strutting around and not trying, it's hard to get behind a team when the players aren't responding and putting in a shift. What we are seeing now is positive reciprocity both the fans and the team are starting games positive, the team give the fans something to shout about and the fans in turn create an intimidating atmosphere.

I don't know what's worse. The guy posing in it or posting it on line!

Their fans are just a bit stupid. They're third and can easily win it. Hopefully though that lack of belief will translate to the players.

Oh, I get it, I really do - we are all going to be slightly peeved if Leicester pip us to the title. I mean, for the first time in forever we finally get a genuine sniff at the title, with most of the usual suspects having really poor seasons - and a club of the level, no offence to them, that even challenging for the title is a once in a hundred years freak occurrence. I even get where some of them are coming from if they truly believe that his time is passed.

What I don't get, reading that thread, is the shear level and volume of vitriol poured ol' Whingers head. They seem to hate him more than any spurs fan ever did. I honestly believe, if we were in exactly the same situation, if Poch is at the Lane as long as the Whinger has been a Goon, and if he wins us as many trophies as Whinger won them, I would be the first one organising a whip round for a 'fans appreciation of everything he has done for us' present. The fact that he might have tailed off a bit (in his ability to get us over the finish line in the league...ignoring the two F.A. Cups in two years for a moment) would be neither here nor there. I wouldn't hate him for it, I wouldn't feel pure fury at him. I would be grateful. When he took over them, they were pretty comparable to us - in terms of level trophies won. He is leaving them with quite a trophy gap over us...and they are pouring abuse on his poor befuddled can't handle his coat zip head...WTseriousF?

100% agree with you but you have to remember that most of their fans posting on line have been their fans for less time than wenger's has been at the club. They know nothing else.

Yeah ok, all other clubs' fans are dicks and we're great. Sounds believable. You keep thinking that

People on this very board were castigating our home support earlier this very season. How quickly everyone forgets we had a slow start now it's all seemingly gravy, the comfort blanket of CL being considered a foregone conclusion

The thing with 'fickleness' that is intrinsically wrong, tho, is that it assumes support as one person. You generally have positive and negative fans and depending on how the team is doing, those factions get quieter or louder. It is generally not the same people

The year after we had champions league football the EL games were buy on the door at £15!!!! When nearly every previous EL season games had been sell outs. You only have to hear fans diminish the lge cup to understand we have some fans with ridiculous expectations. We are not above any competition. Nowhere near.

It's kind of cute really. Bless their little peg selling hearts. The first guy is right though, it is going to be like a cup final, all our league games are cup finals till the end of the season now. I still can't quite believe it,mbut we are in the title race, so that makes every game a huge battle. And for them it's the last time they will play us at their ground, can't blame them for getting a bit emotional.

Leaving a suicide note anywhere is not the behavior of a mentally stable person. If you really have had first hand experience of mental illness in your family then I'm surprised you haven't got more compassion. It's a complex and stigmatized condition, and it's unfair to label it as 'attention seeking'.

Just discovered one of the IT guys who i see when i nip out for a smoke break is a Woolwich fan, good lad though. We had a chat about yesterdays games, about how exciting it's going to be come the NLD and end of the season scrap between us being the ultimate derby rivalry, regardless of where or who we're playing.

He also admitted not being 100% convinced the Woolwich will be within reach come the last couple of games, the fear that they will bottle it again hangs over him. He's a Wenger fan, adores the bloke and where he's taken the club, but is coming around to the belief that it's not only the team he's beginning to hold back, it's the club as a whole.

He was very complimentary of our "relentless machine", puts almost all the credit on Poch and sees a strength in depth and camaraderie with our squad that theirs lacks right now.
