Evidence

He can bang em.

He can place em.

He can curl em.

He don't need no back lift.

He is the best IMO period

The one vs Bayern

How about you

Hard to beat Juninho but of all time?

IMO it's gotta be Sinisa Mihailovic. I loved his run up, straight up, bang it but with fantastic curl.

And not many people score a hat trick of free-kicks!!

Is it true that Pierre van Hooijdonk scored a FK in a game then got another but the opposition tried to be clever and not put up a wall so Pierre decided to get some teammates to make a wall and he still scored?

Man, never heard that before!!

But if it is true, then . VH was a class act with a FK as well. Forgot about him.

In a similar vein, my dad told me that some teams didn't bother putting up walls against Platini because a wall made it easier for Platini to score. It was so second nature to him to get it up and down, that a wall just blocked the view of the keeper.

Not sure of all time but I would say Ronaldinho is probably the best at the moment

no ronaldinho needs too many attempts to score once in a blue moon. i would say right now sneijder and pirlo are the best at freekicks.

Juninho, on his day, might be the best in the world. Links up play spectacularly, and can score free kicks from serious distance better than anyone. To be fair, he can throw some real stinkers in, and I haven't seen him in a while.

I can't help but think he was the missing link for Brazil this past WC.

Also, Nakamura is pretty damn good. Real cracker against Manchester United at OT (I think) last year.

Juninhos a very good shout. Likewise Nakamura. I think purely on matches and goals that I've seen (I really don't see as much European footy as I'd like), I'd go for the Japanese.

My former favourite used to be Stuart Pearce. He took some 'proper Free Kicks'. Nearly burst the net. Probably got the highest goals-from-fk ratio to his name. MAybe even moreso than Beckham who is another who takes a lovely kick. Various types and is more adept at finding the corner of the goal (at different heights) than just about anyone else.

Gareth Bale.

In all seriousness though, Juninho is head and shoulders above. He has every type of freekick from every distance and angle. The guy is a genius at striking the ball.

Nakamura for Celtic is pretty good. and Riquelme's 2 free kicks against Chile were world class. id have to say Ronnie is the best though.
