When was the last time we sold a player and replaced them with an upgrade? Based on our recruitment of the last 5 years id say we are heading downwards fast and if its true we are on a limited budget then we will need to sign some battlers as will be in a dogfight at the bottom based on current trend. If we are to make any sort of changes the key signing without any doubt in my mind is the head of recruitment or whoever gets the deals done.
Davinson is better than Wimmer? I mean seriously that's how bad it is only one I can think of.

We need to start selling our best players...just not all at once.

One out, two (or 3) in policy.

Keeps the squad fresh and young.

Plus we've never had a proper 'leader' on the pitch for years now.

Goran Bunjevcevic was the last one I can remember.

I think most agree that a fair chunk of our squad ‘could’ be sold for the right offer, or if the right player were available to replace

We definitely lack 2 or 3 things In my opinion

Firstly a shit hot spine - we have a striker and that’s it really. Need a proper midfielder, a proper centre back and I hate to say this but an upgrade on lloris

Secondly - we need leaders - I mean proper leaders that will give this lot a kick up the arse

Finally - we need experience - again players that have actually been there and done it. Players that would give this lot a serious ‘you haven’t done shit’ conversation

Only then do I genuinely feel we will see the best of the rest in our squad

It will be a very interesting summer to follow........
Agree with most of that except............Interesting that you say this but would get rid of Lloris who, in the 4.3 seconds I allocated to thinking about it, is pretty much the only one of those we have :D

If we're going to do this then he needs to stay for at least another year or two. The other stuff comes before moving him on IMO.

But i've made it clear what my actual priority would be.

Kane, Lloris, Son, Bergwijn, Lo Celso, Sessgnon, Ndombele

Parrott, Tanganga, Skipp

The rest I’m totally ambivalent about

I can see an argument for selling just about everyone except Lo Celso and Bergwijn. Obviously in an ideal world we would keep Kane and Son but if we are going to properly rebuild this squad we are going to have to sell some high profile players to fund it. Obvious candidate is Dele (maybe Sanchez, winks and Ndombele too), but beyond that I can't see us getting a decent fee for anyone other than Kane/Son so selling one of them may be a necessary evil.

It shows you how good some of our players are if you just sit back and think which teams in the premiership would take them off our hands.

For example Dele. City, United, Liverpool, Chelsea, would not touch him. Doesn't fit in to the way Wolves.or Leicester play. Maybe Everton at a push or if Newcastle got bought out.

Lucas Moura the big four wouldn't touch him. Wolves have better wingers. Maybe Leicester as Perez has been poor this season maybe be Everton.

Davison Sanchez. The big four wouldn't touch him. He is not better then Evans or Sonuycu. Boly is better then him and wouldn't suit playing in Wolves team as you require the ability to pass a ball five yards forward. Everton need a centre half but if they want a better defender for less money who is also crap with the ball at his feet then sign Chris Smalling.

Serge Aurier....Norwich wouldn't touch him.

Ben Davies....would be a solid left back for a mid table side....therefore should you stay with us.

Sissoko....Crystal Palace maybe?

Winks...maybe a West Ham or Bournemouth.

Toby....finished at Top Premier League level

Jan...finished full stop.

For me there is only Kane, Son, Bergwijn, Lloris and Lo Celso that would be attractive for one of the big four to purchase in this country. Just shows how backwards we have gone.

In reality if you break it down; individually based on level of ability, we are in the position that reflects the current standard of our squad as teams above us apart from Sheff Utd have just as many if not more better players then we do.

I'd probably change the title of this thread to "Who CAN we keep" after that shit show. I mean, who would want to stay?

I see a lot of people wanting Sanchez to go. I’d keep him tbh, he’s only just turned 24. In three or four years time, you could be looking at one of the worlds best. I think he will only improve.
No chance, absolutely no chance he’ll be close to one of the worlds best. He’s got fundamental flaws in his game that won’t improve with time and even the things he can improve a bit on, In three years he’s still not ironing them out.

I do agree - and I do think he would be one that would be a possible out of a decent spine - however even if not replaced now we must start seriously thinking about it. He has become more erratic over the years and I would say this will only get worse - but as I said - it would be a difficult one to find the right replacement!

Just shows you how deluded some of our fans are. For all his flaws I still stay Foyth has a higher ceiling then Sanchez.

I know a few people have said it already but he gets bullied against any sort of physical striker. Rondon always destroyed him when he was at Newcastle and WBA. Even in the Utd match he made that one mistake when Hugo saved well from Rashford. He cannot be trusted and even more so away from home when concentration is key.

He’s just turned 24 and is a central defender. You’re being ridiculous.

Well I would like to point out he is probably been playing football since he was 5 or 6 at a high level and getting fantastic coaching day in day out. So why in 18 years does he not have the ability to pass a five yard ball forward to a team mate?

If he was English and goes by the name of Christopher Smalling and not purchased for £40m you would not be coming out with such ridiculous statements.

I remember Sol Campbell and Ledley King at 24 and they were far superior then Sanchez at the same age and turned into World Class defenders. As much as you like to think so... he will never be on the level of either of those.

Just to add Nathan Ake is one year older then him and is at least on the same level of Sanchez. Do you believe the same about him? Or is it because one plays for Bournemouth and the other for Spurs?

Out of this current squad for next season, If you were Levy & Jose, who would you definitely not sell?

For me, it's....

Kane
Lloris
Son
Bergwijn
Lo Celso
Tanganga
Parrott

Everybody else as far as I'm concerned can be sold if the right offer comes in.

I’d sell son. After Kane our most valuable player and not consistent.

Not many is my answer....:

Keep (first team) - Lloris, Davies, Sanchez, Winks, Ndombele, Lo Celso, Son, Bergwijn, Kane.
Keep (youth) - Whiteman, Tanganga, Cirkin, Sessegnon, KWP, Foyth, Skipp, White, Gedson, Clarke, Parrott.

Sell - Gazzaniga, Vorm, Toby, Jan, Aurier, Rose, CCV, Sissoko, Lamela, Alli & Moura.

Bit of Football Manager going on, however I think it's time to clear the deadwood & players who cannot feature consistently for us. Perhaps a tad harsh on Lamela but he is massively injury prone & if we could pull some money in & spend elsewhere then that would be good.

This would then leave a squad of:

G - Lloris - Whiteman

LB - Davies - Cirkin
RB - Tanganga - KWP
CB - Sanchez - Foyth - NEW - NEW

CM - Winks - Ndombele - Lo Celso - Skipp - White - Gedson.

AM - Son - Bergwijn - Sessegnon - Clarke

ST - Kane - Parrott

Gives a better picture of where we would need to improve.
