Linked by the Telegraph - says we are making an enquiry. I know Chelsea have been linked.

Anyone seen much of him? Where does he play?

Would probably be competition for lennon/bale, although would very possibly be 1st choice right sided forward in place of lennon. Not seen a huge amount but impressed on the occasions i have done

Typical offensive Brazilian. Pace and dribbling skills, could play wide right but isn't much of a striker. Feels like we are getting linked to a lot of offensive midfielders.

Good player who can play right across the front 3 or AM. If we are sending say 20m Euros on a player I don't think he is cover for anybody. Most important thing is that unlike Lennon he chips in with a good return of goals. If Lennon scored double figures every season then there would be no need.

My fear though is would he be just a Gervinho?

Does he chip in with a good return of goals ? Seems to be a sub 10 goal a season player, after a quick check ...

Yep, just checked, although it's still better than AL to be fair. Around the 1 in 5 mark, whereas Lennon is more like 1 in 8 or 9. He is in the same sort of ballpark as Bale - pretty similar return. As it happens I think Bale should do better though, so that's nothing to go by. Bout the same age as Bale too.

Not really fussed whether it is him or not - we just need a return in goals from all 3 if we play 433.

Luckily it's not my job to recommend or choose players - especially when we are paying so much for them. :)

GDS looks better from what I have seen of him so I think we should pass at the reported price (c.£19m).

Meet Willian. Slightly odd name, seriously talented footballer, and, if he gets his way, arriving in the Premier League very soon.
The Brazilian winger belongs to Shakhtar Donetsk but is in London this week to stock up on baby clothes.
The 23-year-old’s wife Vanesa is expecting twins in March so Willian has been doing a fair amount of window shopping. Which brings us nicely to the transfer window.
Arsenal, Chelsea and Tottenham have all shown interest in the £13million-rated former Corinthians man and have less than two weeks in which to replace interest with hard cash.
‘I would love to play in England,’ he says coyly, not wishing to upset Shakhtar, who signed him four years ago for £9.3m.

Capital venture: Willian takes a break from shopping in London this week
‘The league is one of the best and there are some great clubs here: Manchester United, Chelsea, Arsenal, Manchester City. Clubs with big players who play attractive football. I like Chelsea and Arsenal’s styles a lot. I’d be very happy to play for Tottenham too and help get them back into the Champions League. They’re a very big club.’
Willian — or Willian Borges da Silva to use his full name — would fit well into the Barclays Premier League.
He’s fast, direct, scores goals — he has netted one and set up three in five matches in Ukraine so far this season — and doesn’t seem the type to be falling out of nightclubs on a Saturday night. He’s a quiet, family man, his sparkly earrings the only real clue to his wealth.
He’s incredibly shy but clearly likes what he sees in England.
‘I like London a lot,’ he adds. ‘There are so many people, lots of shops and restaurants. It’s like Sao Paulo.’

Opening up: Willian likes what he sees in England and is keen to play in the Premier League
Willian was kicking a ball around his house as a two-year-old before joining an academy at four and then Corinthians as a teenager.
Now he’s a part of the Shakhtar team who have won three league titles and reached the last eight of the Champions League last season.
His goal in the last 16 against Roma was a peach, so he wouldn’t exactly be coming in under the radar.
‘I think my style of play would suit the Premier League,’ he says, although there is interest from elsewhere, with Benfica having a bid turned down last week.
‘I like to pick the ball up out wide and then dribble lots. As a young boy, I idolised Ronaldo and Ronaldinho. My style is more like Ronaldinho’s, behind the main striker in a No 10 role. In England, I play a little bit like Nani or Luka Modric.’

Big stage: Willian tangles with Dani Alves of Barcelona in last season's Champions League quarter-final
Willian is preparing for life over here, learning English in his spare time at home and watching an endless amount of Premier League football.
Many top Brazilians choose to go to Spain or Italy because of the physical nature of football in England, but Willian believes his time at Shakhtar will mean adapting would not be a problem.
‘Having played in Ukraine for four years, I can already deal with the physical side of the game,’ says the Brazilian, who is good friends with compatriot David Luiz, the Chelsea defender.
‘They are very hard over there. In that sense, Ukraine is good preparation for playing over here.
‘In the past some Brazilians have struggled in the Premier League but that is changing. Apart from Luiz, you have Sandro doing well at Tottenham and Heurelho Gomes, too. That’s because there is now everything you need in London to settle.’
Donetsk has been something of a home away from home for Brazilians. There are 10 at Shakhtar, including another Arsenal target Jadson and a man who knows all about England — former Arsenal striker Eduardo da Silva.
‘I’ve spoken to Eduardo about England. He told me what a brilliant city London is. He misses it a lot and would like to come back. I would love to bring my children up in England. My twins are due in March. Maybe they will be born in London.’

seen him play a number of times in EUROPA games - unimpressive, looks way too frail for prem,.... even championship might be too rugged for him... no thanks

I thought that Silva, Mata and Aguero would be too frail for Premier League.

Wouldn't mind him at spurs at all. Young attacking player that can play all over the midfield. An AVB type signing and if we don't get Hulk (which we won't at all) he would be the alternative. I think we would be looking at about £20 million for him.
