Mark Lawrenson happily admitting that he isn't paying the blindest bit of attention, and is essentially telling you that he's effectively stealing your license fee.

Fucking slag.

davinson sanchez is playing really well for colombia. if he does that all game, it'll be one of the best defensive performances of the world cup so far.

I was cheering on Senegal on the basis England would have a better chance of beating them but based on this showing so far.. come on Colombia.

Poland literally millimetres away from leading v Japan. Super save right on the goal line. GLT shows more than half had crossed the line!

Yeah I'd rather play a James-less Colombia on this showing. Senegal look tasty.

Colombians dropping like flies. Hamstring injury for the LB.

Edit: I need to stop diagnosing injuries before the player's actually been subbed.

Regarding the England game, I'm torn.

I get the notion that we should always play our best team and just keep the winning feeling. Totally understand that.

But just look at that Bracket. It's so lopsided.

If we rest players tonight, finish second and then finish on the 'easier' side of the Bracket, then the only way that doesn't give us a better chance is if we turn in a shite performance in the Last 16 match. Given how well we are playing, the chemistry between the players and the potential opposition in the L16, I just cannot see that happening.

On the other side of the Bracket, ok we may get an easier Last 16 match but then next up it's Brazil. Even if we won the next two games comfortably, I still think we'd be cagey against Brazil. Because it's Brazil!

I agree it's normally fairly pointless to plot ahead, but this time we are qualified with a game to go so it's at least worth looking at.

Definitely improved, i was worried after a misplaced pass and that near penalty decision he might be having a poor game, but proven unfounded.

I'm all for the easiest last 16 possible. Not looking further than that. As things stand that also involves finishing second.

Win tonight and I can't watch the match next week. Lose and I can watch it plus I'll have the next day off ?

Senegal really do suffer from the classic African "great players dodgy keeper" syndrome. He has made mistakes in the other games and looks nervous every time the ball goes near him.
