I think the most frustrating part was that we knew he wasn't bothered about the result and we all still sat and suffered through it. Once the knock outs start the fun starts again

Biggest positives of the night were Rose and RLC. Both of whom I'd have starting on Tuesday.

Biggest negative was Welbeck. I still don't understand why we wasted a spot in the 23 on him. Or why we even waste oxygen on him to be honest.

Why on earth would that offend anyone?

And any team getting to a world cup 1/4 final is good enough to beat anyone else. We're getting way ahead of ourselves. Colombia could easily do us, and Mexico, who have been largely excellent, could easily do Brazil... Who have been largely shite. Switzerland have proven themselves to be a very good footballing side, and could do us as well.

The point is that worrying about draws when you talking about the 8 best teams in the world is elementary... Whereas winning the actual football matches is all you should be focusing on. Southgate has made a rod for his back, and he will be beaten severely over the head with it should we wimp out against whoever the fuck we play.
Have you ever met people?

No but they should.

CB makes Walker's brain farts more costly, and Stones is just as comfortable on the ball. Dier is the best CB in the squad period.

Rose is just a better WB than Young simply.

I'm so massively Spurs Bias it's unreal but if you think Dier is the best CB in the squad you're nuts.

Young will start the next game ahead of Danny and Henderson will start ahead of Eric.
I'm quite happy about the latter. Dier was awful today. To be fair Henderson has been decent last few England games, he plays that role well.

Disagree. If one thing has come out of tonight's game its that Southgate has his starting XI pretty much right. Not one of those tonight imo has given him a selection headache for the next round.

In fact for me the only change that is even up for debate is Dele or RLC, and the fact Dele can get a goal out of no where puts him slightly ahead. If of course he is fit.

I say 100 but Danny definitely stated his claim over a very average Young so I meant the 50 percent emoji Trix ?

Southgate knows his first XI. That's why hardly any of them played tonight. I don't think he was even looking at tonight as a chance for others to force their way in. Dele will start, and Rose, Walker, Maguire etc. Same as Tunisia, injuries permitting.

Colombia will go into the game with four days rest. England with nine. Southgate did the right thing, even if it was pretty dull to watch. We're two very winnable games from a semi-final. Everyone's played, first eleven rested, no injuries to speak of and a favourable draw. Chips don't fall much kinder than that.

Is Rose a better LB? Yes without doubt.

Has he shown in the last few weeks his head is all over the shop? Absolutely

Lets say he make a huge mistake which costs us in the knockout stages, or worse still is called upon in a penalty shoot out. Christ if he's struggling with things now imagine what it would do to the bloke to go through what Southgate, Waddle or Pearce went through after effectively being the one that "lets the entire country down". There was zero pressure on this game, and by Southgates substitutions it was clear he didn't care if we lost it. Had this been a case we had to get a result Rose would not have started and for very good reason. He is clearly not mentally 100%.

As a Spurs fan I am not happy. Eric needs, and has needed for a long for time, to buck his ideas up.

There's no question that Dele has to play for me. Mentioned it earlier in this thread, he's the only player with genuine creativity.

Absolutely. It just depends what Southgate wants. Both very good players but they offer very different skillsets. For me it shouldn't be a case of either Dele or RLC because they are very different players. I'd like to see both in the side tbh with RLC in at CM and Dele behind Kane. Not the time now to be pissing about with formations and experiments though.
