Sweden v England
Russia v Croatia

--------------------------------

Surprisingly confident. Which probably means we'll lose.

England unchanged. I don't understand Rose isn't starting, and why Sterling is. Young and Sterling have done nothing so far, and Young offers nothing going forward, which is absurd for a wing back. He cuts back every. Single. Time because he has no left foot.

Yeah no idea how Young is starting this. Surely Rose offers more of a threat to a team playing defensively.

I can understand that Young has had a better season at LB than Rose. But that itself is meaningless now. We've got fuck all creativity in the middle as it is.

Also, we definitely need to start creating chances from open play. Jenas on radio making this point. Such a good pundit.

Does Southgate think Young is better defensively?
Possibly. Still, I would have thought Rose is good enough defensively to cope with Sweden. Can't see Young offering much. Watch him get a hat-trick of assists now ..

Waddle: "Henderson is clever enough not to get booked." Cleary didn't watch the Colombia match and him getting involved.

Klinsmann: "I love Harry Kane, but not just because I'm a Spurs man."

"After the Colombia game I was jumping up and down - there were five Spurs players involved."

Can’t see us creating a lot for on set pieces against the Swedes. Their centre backs are very dominant in the air.

We've faced these sorts of teams and we know what they bring, they're gonna bank up so you need to stretch the pitch by making it as wide as possible, all Young is going to do is cut in on his right foot and slow things down, I can see it now and it's gonna annoy the hell out of me.

I think Waddle's been struck by his 1990 penalty finally coming back down out of orbit!

Disappointed rose isn't starting, for the additional attacking threat he provides. considering Sweden are likely to bus park. But otherwise, I'm not surprised he's sticking to his winning formula. If it ain't broke and all that.

Semis? Damn straight.

I think it makes sense to stick with the squad line up at this stage
