How could we seriously justify buying this bloke? Regardless of personal preference to the players people do/don't rate or want to sell on we have currently played Eriksen, Sigurdsson, Chadli, Townsend, Lamela and Lennon on the left this season.
We need consistency with the squad we have, not keep adding more players with only 18 league games left.

So we haven't got anybody who has made the spot their own then? Sounds like a fairly good reason TO buy him. Especially if we're flogging one of the above or never plan on playing them on the left again.

Eriksen...

Woh! You're right, I forgot about their interest in him! However, they didn't actively pursue him like they have with those four others only to be gazumped last minute by other clubs.

I understand all this, i just get fed up with the circus that is our transfer business, there seems to be no solid foundation to it.

It just clicked in my dumb brain that we are playing Dnipro in the Europa League this round.

What if we signed this guy and then just for one game for pure banter, we play him, Lennon, Townsend in midfield and Walker in defence and just tell them to attack.. Can already see the poo fall out of oppositions asses

We've just been handed a superb case in point for needing this guy. We're starting a useless No 10 against City while playing Eriksen out of position. We've got to address our left wing, maybe even before our back line issues.

In the Bernard thread i said i have seen lots of Konoplyanka and that basically he's classes above Bernard, him and Yarmalenko are the best players in Ukrainian football and Konoplyanka could be a star for sure, he as so so much ability.

The problem is we've got ourselves in a bit of a mess by having so many players of the same type and our squad is just too big with those same type of players, our squad seriously needs balancing out and i think some players have to be shipped out before we look at this type of purchase. If Siggy went and Holtby went we would still have Lennon, Lamela, Townsend, Chadli & Eriksen who Sherwood has found an effective position for.

All that said this guy is a class player but i can't see us doing this because of our squad balance.

After RAWK locked the tread and deleted all the Spurs stuff, this is all that remains

LEAVE THE SPURS SHITE OUT AND DISCUSS THE PLAYER/POSSIBLE TRANSFER TO US.

ANY BASHING OF THE CLUB/CURRENT PLAYING STAFF/MANAGER/AYRE AND CO, IT'S LOCKED.

IF HE SIGNS, BASHING OF THE BISHOP IS PERMITTED.

Townsend?

Have mentioned him several times in this thread, and yes I see him as our only quality option there. The gulf in quality when he's out is just too much for a club with our ambitions. Especially since it makes our best attacking midfielder at the moment play out of position in cover against the top quality opposition in the league.

If he comes available you simply have to go for a player like this, providing its financially right.
