Only way I can see it happening is if we can't get Dybala over the line we may go in late. Obviously appreciate they play in completely different positions, just thinking in terms of cash outlay

I really don't see this happening if Aurier is still here. Way too late to be trying to sign him now.

Was thinking this through a bit, and maybe there’s a scenario where we try and loan KWP (who needs time), bring in Atal and also look to shift Aurier over the next few weeks. While Foyth recovers, could have a player like Dier or Toby cover the role while Atal gets up to speed (if necessary). It’s a gamble, but Atal and Foyth seem like a nice little duo of differing skill sets.

This would make sense especially as, with the Sessegnon signing, Davies could slot into second choice LCB (his best position IMO given that tackling and distribution are his strongest attributes, vs dribbling and pace deficiencies which mean he's never going to offer enough going forward as an attacking full back) to free Foyth up to be a full time right back, for this season at least.

That way we'd 1) make best use of Davies; 2) get Aurier off the books; 3) Give KWP a full season of experience in a less pressurised environment to develop the areas he's weaker in; 4) Give Foyth game time in a less pressurised role to develop in while we still have Alderweireld at RCB; 5) Give Sessegnon game time at LB while Rose is still around for him to learn from.

Seems a very good solution all round to me.

Was just reading that Nice are in the process of changing owners making this deal difficult, if not impossible, to pull off.

Is there any truth in that?

Would rather him than Dybala tbh.

Sounds batshit crazy right? But I don't entirely disagree.. I think we'd have a more balanced squad with Atal tbh. Needless to say, I'd still be over the fucking moon with Paulo signing obviously.

I think Dybala is a luxury player we don't have a pressing need for, unlike RB. I don't think Atal is a better footballer than Dybala.

Know very little about Atal, but reading about him his attacking phases of play are the real standout aspects described. Any idea of his defensive attributes? He seems on YouTube to pop up on the LW and sometimes middle of the park on occasion too!

Brighton about to sign a young PSG right back (Yapi).

Could open up room for Aurier back to PSG.

Then Atal to us?

Are Nice being linked to any Right backs?

Remember they have the rest of the month to find a replacement if we do get him

I actually see where you are coming from - our right back area is seriously weak

Having said that there are women lots of them who want to run down the high street naked if we get Dybala - so ill go for Dybala

If Aurier is going back to PSG, then Atal makes sense. I don’t see swapping out KWP as the right option. Atal may be a loan with option to buy, to get round the time/cash flow situation, if Nice would take that. Try and send Nkoudou over there as a sweetener.

Now relying upon this getting done to save me from the post-Dybala depression. Lo Celso, Sessegnon and Atal would still be fantastic.
